Question recommended spark plugs?

I am in need of a tune-up for my '97 TA WS6. I was wondering what spark plugs would be good for me? I don't plan on competing in any events, but I will take it to the strip every now and then just for recreation. (I also like highway runs against imports haha). So, I don't want a crappy plug, but I don't need a top-dollar competition plug. What do you guys recommend? Thanks everyone!

NGK, Bosch, and Autolite are good choices.

Autolite 106's. They're only $1.07 at Wal-Mart.

Haha I don't know if Walmart Autolites are what I'm looking for. Besides, I work at a NAPA store and I have an account, so I can get stuff cheap anyway. I'm hearing a lot about these NGK TR-55's. They're a dependable plug? I do want a PERFORMANCE plug, but nothing seriously for racing with an extraodinary heat range... Are these TR-55's Iridium or something? What makes them so special, or any plug so special for that matter?

I wouldn't worry about them. They're a great plug. I quit using NGK's cuz I kept fouling them out for various reasons. The Autolites were easy to get and cheap too. I haven't had any problems with them at all.

The NGK TR55 is just a basic copper plug, nothing fancy. The only real upgrades you can make to a plug are longer service life which is the only benifit to platinum and iridium. The multiple electrodes and all are just marketting crap. You want something that will last a long time the 96-7 Delco platinums are the way too go so long as you don't spray or boost.

"Performance" spark plugs are not going to gain you any noticeable horsepower gains.

With that said, stick with NGK TR-55's.

I read that the plugs that advertise a horsepower gain will actually gain you a few horse...FOR a few runs up and down the track and then after a little bit the deposits just dirty it up and its no better than a wal mart plug.

hum, now i'm you got me thinking.
my motor is beening rebuilt .030 over, forged pistons, forged rods, heads are beening done by Advance Induction w/ custom cam.
pacesetter mids, SLP intake, ported intake manifold, ARP hardwere, studs in the main,
new timing chain, high flow cat, magna flow muffler.

I bought some plugs Bosch Platinum +4
are they ok ?
i used them on my stock 1500 350 truck 1993 and they worked great.

Anyway are they ok for my new motor or should i get a colder plug or differant?
Thanks guys.

They are crap the only reason they would have been OK in that other motor is you probably replaced old plugs and anything would have been an improvement. It is not a matter of you needing colder plugs but decent ones those are not.
