Car tries to start with no keys, need help fast
Ok, so I installed my headers today, and was getting ready to start the car. Went to connect the battery and the starter engaged and the engine started to turn over. The keys are not even in the car, and not that it matters with no keys but the clutch is not pushed in.

Well I checked all the power and ground wires, all seem to be fine. Could it be a problem with the starter itself? I dont see how it would be bad now, its only been out of the car for a cupple days, and I dont think I droped it or anything, but I suppose anything is possible.

That is a pretty strange problem as far as my Knowledge goes. I don't see it being the starter itself, maybe something with the computer... considering our cars aren't even suppose to start without the right chip... all of our keys fit in other Camaros and some GM Vehicles, but the chip allows it to start.
But your saying that it turns without a key at all, maybe it's something within the column. Might wanna take off the column and look inside there, see if something is worn, broken, etc.
Good luck

Check your starter and solonoid:
1. It could be stuck
2. The battery lead could be touching the (S) lead on the solonoid causing the starter to run.
I would pull the starter and see if there was power to the solonoid wire little wire on the ("S" terminal). (There shouldn't be)

yeah make sure the wiring at the starter is correct and not allowing terminals to become electrically connected. FWIW, i had a problem with long tube headers burning through the insulation on the power lead to the starter. every time i floored it, the engine would torque over, allowing the starter cable to ground out on the header pipe. as soon as it did, everything else would obviously loose power, ignition included. that killed the torque, allowing the engine to relax and breaking the electrical connection. once the connection was broke, it was back to normal. everytime it did this, i'd get off the throttle, so i never made the connection in my head of what was going on until one day, when i had the car on jackstands to inspect some other stuff, i happened to see the burn marks on the header pipe.

Ok well I got everything sorted out and the car runs great. I put the old Flowmaster Cat-back on my car (I know, I know) and just left the muffler out too see what it sounded like. And it sounds bad ***. Quite a bit of rasp below 2000 rpms, but anything above that and it just screams. But Im gonna have to put the muffler on tomorrow, so as not to annoy the sound police. Anyway thanks for the help everyone.
