Well, I can say in the Ford world, the AFR's rule. They come CNC'd from the factory and have the best powercurve because they get the most flow to the port size. Well made heads, and they do very well on regular SBC, so why not LT1. If I were to do heads, which I might, AFR would be my first choice, they are worth the money.

AFR is living off their OLD reputation where they provided good heads to replace factory crap, not the the current stuff is bad just that it is NOWHERE near as good as people believe and people are WAY WAY too fast to think they "need" them. That said the fastest LT1 b-body runs TrickFlows consistent 9 second car at Vegas altitude over 4000lbs I believe WITHOUT driver.
With stockish displacement ported stock castings are THE way to go, even for many strokers that is a good choice with LT4s being the next logical choice.
Even the AFR LT1/LT4 defenders will tell you AFR's CNC porting sucks.
You want a real answer you have to tell us what you are trying to accomplish what is best is different if you are building a boosted 350 as compared to a high winding 396 etc.

i have some proaction heads that will outflow afr 215RR's
the best heads are going to depend on alot of factors.
most likely not going to be ltx style heads they are going to be sbc heads converted

You can get a 2.020 or a 2.055 intake valves, the exhaust is 1.600. All of our heads come with flow sheets, call, pm or e-mail for details.

Just out of curiousity, how much for a SBC fully ported assembled Trick Flow head?

I have AFR 227's that have had some work done to them. They flow 336@.650 Intake and somewhere in the 2##'s on the exhaust. The most previous i put down was 467rw before they were reworked. Now i have a MUCH bigger solid roller with a distributor and a F.A.S.T. computer. I will know what it makes here in the next two weeks. I have always had good luck with AFR's and everyone who i know who runs them has great numbers from them. My vote is on AFR

I'd say AFR..... I run AFR's 227cc LT4 heads with the competition CNC port job on them. Intake runner are CAVERNOUS.... Flowed like 315 at .700 on intake and 240 cfm on the exhaust....
more than enough flow to support over 700 HP NA... A ton more than that with a power adder...
Trick Flow makes some good stuff as well.... I just trust AFR's quality. But if you want 215 RR's or 227's be prepared to wait.... I waited 16 weeks for my AFR's to even reach my engine builders shop....
