LT1 vs. LS1
A lot more than the stock ls1 block, A LOT, Iron vs. Allum
2.)What is there stock 1/4 mile time
14 flat with a 2 sec or so sixty, with a set of DR's, a good launch, you can see 13.8's or better.
3.)Do they have a 4l60e if its an a/t what do they have if its a m/t
The 93's had a 4l60, the 94-97 had the 4l60-e, the manual tranny is at t-56, cable clutch vs hydrolic, Borg Warner I believe..
4.)Can they handle some abuse?
Yes.
5.)Are they easily upgraded
Sure.
It's so great to see Spuds spreading his plague of misinformation everywhere on the site.

Chris, yeah these threads often go on FOREVER. Soon it'll turn into an all-out flame fest between the LT1 and LS1 faithful.
I ran 13.2@106 in an A4 with just exhuast, mail order tuning and 3.73s
keep in mind, mail order was only a few hp gain on an Lt1, nothing like what the LQ4 would gain.
I know with ~$3K in my `99 that was a stall/cooler/cai/catback/tuner/headers/LS6intake and that should have been enough for low 12's (ran high 12's on street tires).

The LT4 is pretty much an LT1 with a cam, better heads, tune, roller rockers, and intake, which any LT1 can easily make more power for less money then it would cost to convert it to an LT4. But yea...
400hp > 325hp
