The post had nothing to do with coated or no coated. You want to spend 500/700 on just headers that will last 50 years have at it. I will get the same performance with uncoated and spend 200 less. I do not drive around with a clear hood to show off my motor bling. And I race the car on the street not show off the motor at car shows. Like I said I have had uncoated headers before and if they last 8 years I got my moneys worth.

the only reason i wish i would of gotten coated headers to begin with is because of the under hood temps. the cai would be burning hot (and its plastic) and hot air does not make power. buy uncoated and youll end up putting header jackets on or wraps to keep the temps down. in the end you spend the same. dont make the same mistake i made. just my 2 cents.

coated has nothing to do with looks. it's about saving your wire set and other ignition parts. the headers will last just as long, whether they're coated or not, but will everything else around them???
