Default Mostly stock LT1 ran....

My first time to run at a track, cold air, flowmaster, pcm tune, and nitto drag radials. I was launching (A4) at 1200 rpm with the footbreak, anything higher and the car starts to slide (need a stall, please tell me which one and how high). Anyways my fastest was 14.12 at 97.7 mph with a .0276 reaction and a 2.05, 60 foot time. Does this sound about right for my car or what can I do to go faster??? I plan on a stall and probably nitrous in the very near future.

The stall is going to make a huge differance.

Honestly you could be a half second faster than that. Your car has a catback, intake, a tune, and good tires. That should put you at mid 13's, imo, considering a stock lt1 with a decent driver can go 13.9 pretty easy, some have gone even quicker than that, factory stock.

For a stall, i'd probably go with a 3200 I guess.

I ran a 14.0xxx at 99mph with a CAI and thats it. A4. The stall should be picked with your future plans. maybe a vig 3200 and on spray it would stall at 3800. Mickey Thompson tires are WAY better for hooking. have to get that 60 ft down to a sub 1.7 and then things will happen for you!

Thats about right for the DA and miles, I daily drove my LT1 with a 3200 in it. I had a P.I Vigilante and after being around on the boards for about 7 years I havent seen a single complaint, its a good converter. How old is your transmision? With that kind of miles I would save the stall for a rebuild.

I really dont know any more, I got mine in 02, I think they were 795 then, mine had like 5K miles on it when I got it, paid 415 shipped. I ran an 8.5 in the 1/8 with this stall, cat back and a cold air on a 100% stock suspension on Kuhmos. I redid the suspension on it but couldnt hook, on drag raidals the car should do high 12s the way it sits. Minus the suspension and stall the only other mods are a cat back and a cold air. Valve covers have never been off the motor.

You're definitely losing alot of time off the line with the factory stall. I have issues off the line in my M6, but that's just cause I need softer shocks and better tires.

I also have a vig 3200 with 3:73 gears. At 80 mph I'm at 3k rpms . But with smaller gears you'd be OK. They perform well on the street and awesome on the track IMO.

Your 60' is not bad for stock tires and stall. What track did you run at and what were the conditions? Depending on track conditions and the condition of your car, that sounds about right. As far as stalls go, I would go with a minimum of a 3000 and as much as a 3500. If you have 2.73s, I would recommend getting some 3.42s-3.73s as well. Otherwise, a 3000 or higher stall is going to be annoying to drive on the street I drove my friend Betty's 3400 in her 98 Formula and it is very streetable (3.23 gears). Don't forget your other boltons as well (headers, etc.). With the gears and a stall sticky tires ARE A MUST!

Sounds like you need a little launching practice but other than that, it's good for your altitude.

On another note, I used to own a 25th T/A and your car is EXACTLY what I wanted to do to mine. Do you have any pics so that I can see what I might have made lol

Make sure to get your DRs nice and hot (at least 5-7 seconds of burn out time), stall it up as high as you can go. At this point you'll have to do some fine tuning. Some cars you can just floor it, others won't stick and you have to peddle them a little.

If you want to invest some money, one of the BIGGEST mods you can do to help 60 foot time is get some new LCAs and relocation brackets. That will cut down on any wheel hop problems as well.

Thanks!

i sent you pics. I hold the footbreak, run the rpm's up to 1200, anything more and the car will slide, then I let off the break and put the gas on the floor, no wheel hop no traction problems. a stall is all i could figure to get off the line faster...
