Default Header differences

Hey guys I was looking at headers the other day and noticed that the pacesetters that everyone praises don't look to be that good. I mean the tubes (sorry at a loss for words) are quite obviously not of equal length. Isn't that one of the things that make LTs so effective. I also looked at the SLP ones that I always see everyone bad mouthing and they look great.
I guess Imasking if spending the extra money and upgrading to a better header is actaully worth it, do you gain a noticeable amount more power or just a few horses?

I would say its not worth the little more power u may gain. Just wait till u need new ones.

Equal length is a great THEORY actually installed in a car they are usually not worth the extra bends and hassle. If you have to make the pipe all twisted and come up under the hood more and crap all that hurts so you end up a wash. On a street car FITMENT is the number one priority of headers if you have something that fits you are doing good.

pacesetters are undoubtably the best LT and Mid-Tube header. there isnt any other brand that offers the quality for the money. if youre that worried about the look of your headers you should think about invest in something other than an lt1 cause it aint always gonna be pretty. performance wise you arent gonna see a difference. like 96capricemgr said it a great theory but doesnt really have that much function on a street application.

Its not about the headers being pretty, its about the primaries visably being of different lengths.

Pace Setters are really cheap and made good so thats why there talked highly about, im going to dish out the extra money and get a set of KOOKs. Not cheap but I like the stepped design and its worth it to me.

Just put a set of pacesetters on mine (midlengths) and I am very impressed with the quality. Excellent fitment.

Fellow KOOKer (new word) , pacesetters don't come close by comparison (maybe to Jethot or Hooker) but lot of the LS guys down here run pace's, cheap, fit well and look good, haven't heard much on LT cars about them.

i have them and i love them. went in easy, look great, combined with a tune dropped my ET over 1 second... the only headers i would consider are pacesetters and kooks. i'm in "college"(UTI) so i'm on a budget, thus the pacesetters.

Who has the best mid-length? Kooks or Pacesetter?

I just checked. I don't think they do. Pacesetter is cheaper, so I'll eventually go with them.

shackle & slagger I'd say go with what's more bang for the buck, in your budget and prevents the eating of Ramen Noodles for saving $$
