I am gald I can come on here and not be bashed for having the LT1 instead of the LS1 like I get everywhere else I go. No matter what the person drives they bash the LT1s and its starting to drive me crazy.

No one has bashed my little LT1 on here....yet.

85% of ls1 guys are cool with the lt1 , some of the ls1 guys just seem to underestimate our cars. Don't get mad just bust theur cars ***. My friends with fast ls1 bust on me in a joking way but I return the favor!

My car is stock besides the SLP Loudmouth, and shes gonna stay that way for a LONG time. Some guys joke around with me and thats cool, I can tell when they are just playing. A lot of people just like the styling of the LS1 WS6 over the LT1, which I don't, I hate the LS1 styling, tooooo many vents and holes. Thats just IMO though.

Used to I could brush a lot of the negativity off, but now its piled so high, even from people other than Fbody owners, on me I am going crazy. I guess its where I am easy on my car, I basically baby it and they wanna see me tear my stuff up/hot rod like all the other kids with Mustangs, Camaros, and Trans Ams around here.

I'll get through it, Its just very aggravating.

Sorry I know you didn't ask for that, I just need to get it out.

I too prefer the look of the LT1 WS6 over the LS1 WS6, I have a black 97 with the WS6 hood, when I bought it it had the LS1 tail lights on it, didn't like them as much either so I got some LT1's. I love the lines of the LT1 cars, especially the WS6

I wish I was around more people like you, make me feel better.

We have the same car pretty much, mines a real WS.6 though. Is yours, or just get the hood?

yea, mine is only a Trans Am, kinda wish it was real just for the added selectivity of them but unfortunately it isnt, I have the 98-00 WS6 wheels on mine, again, were put on by the previous owner, but I do like them a lot. I also put the ebony leather seats out of an 01 in mine, mainly for the color and power, so yea there are some LS1 things I like but I absolutely love my LT1 T/A, and love the hood, would not want any other F-Body. LS1 cars might be made faster easier but the 4th gen started with the LT1 and that was the engine that brought the F-Body's back to life, ofcourse the newer technology is going to be more powerful, but would I trade for an LS1? Nope

Me either. the LT1 WS6 is the best looking T/A ever I think. The front end is way to busy on the LS1 cars. Everything is stock on my car as far as looks go. Its pretty well equiped anyway. I got it used so I dunno whats done to it performance wise, probally nothing but I don't care about performance that much. It looks good, and sounds good...thats all that matters to me, I'll let the kids race theirs every night and when they have it blown up I'll drive by in mine and tout the horn at them working on it hahaha.

LS1 cars are better... i want one.. :-/.... but i want one jsut for my daily.. lol... i want my LT1 to be my hot rod... why would i do that you ask? Why start with a inferior car to be your hot rod? That is exactly why... that attitude... you see a lt1.... you see a LT1 that is auto... and sounds quite as stock... you think nothing of it... untill the window switch lets the car crack flow or (soon) you hear the turbo finnaly spool and the poor "inferior" car blows your new fangeld aluminum blocked car's doors off..

^^yea, i love being the underdog too. I might eventually by an LS1 just because i mean it is a better and more advanced engine, but i will aways have my LT1, no doubt about that. I just heard my friends 383 fully ported LT4 headed, big cam car start up last night for the first time, man that was a beautiful lope through that Borla, made me love the LT1 even more.

I'm also trying to turn my Formy into a WS6 look-alike. I just need the hood. I like the looks of both the LT1 WS6 and LS1 WS6. The LT1 WS6 being a bit more subtle and the LS1 WS6 being attention grabbing.

I'd like to get an LS1 for a daily driver but the looks of the LT1 cars are just so agressive and sexy. I hate the LS1 camaros looks, and the TA is just too busy like someone said. This is my old car, how many LS1s look this damn sexy:

Like I said, I'd like an LS1 for a daily, but the '97 is going to be the hotrod. Plus I HATE the sound of LS1s. God it's horrible.

Hey, this was my first thread i started. Glad it turned out so well.

Someone said something about 85% of the people on here cool with the LT1, and that sounds about right.

IMO, most of the people that do bash the LT1 never rode in one. They started out with an LS1, or have rode in several, and immediatly think they are much more faster.
They might be easier to work on, they might be more advanced, but faster in questionable sometimes. A stock LT1 with all Bolts on will keep, sometimes beat any stock LS1.

I test drove a 99 Z28, but the interior didnt light my fire, and the headlights were downright ugly, thank god there is aftermarket.

Also, at driving speeds, the LT1 felt more powerful, because it has a wicked low end grunt. I know the LS1 is faster, but I wasnt buying a car .4 seconds faster than mine on that fact alone.

I like the 93-97 Body style the best for Camaro's ( its all personal opinion anyways ), and I like the sound of the LT1. It just sounds so badass. I cant wait to get my loudmouth!

Aren't we all chevy lovers? I don't understand all the bickering between LS1 and LT1 guys. Sounds like a Chevy vs ford debate in here.

Not really any bickering now, but on a side note, if this did become another LS1 vs LT1 thread. You know you've gotten the competition beat when you argue more with yourselves and compare cars more seriously with your brother cars than with other cars, particularly stangs

ehy man... lol... people shouldjsut stop bickering.... ******* cars are cars.... everything can be fast.... they are all cool... some have a better starting point than others, but all have close to the same limits (at least within the limits we are talking).

Lets all be ******* cool because we have something in common... (but **** those ricers... their are tuners.. them ricers.... ******* ricers)

^^Also very true, cars are cars, having a passion for the one you own is the most important factor, mine might not be the fastest or the most mechanically sound car at the shop, the fastest having well over 300RWHP over mine, but would I ever trade for one of them? Nope, I do what I can with the money and time and knowledge I have, whatever that adds up to I'm extremely happy with

Well put Zlover. Some one up there said their favorite sound is Ford. Well I have to agree, while my Trans Am sounds incredibly bad ***, it still don't sound as good as my 5.0, it's in a F150 guys...not a Mustang haha.

P.S. Thanks you guys. Reading this thread made me love my car again

It all comes down to what you can afford. Anybody can build a car to be faster than the next guy with enough money. But even though this is called LS1Tech.com there are a lot of LT1 guys here. I can't afford an LS1 car while I'm having my 69 Z28 restored so I got an LT1 car. I really don't know why anybody would want to compare the 2 engines since they are completley different animals. Enjoy your F-body no matter what engine's in it!
