Default 434 ci?

i was at my friends house looking through his magazines, and i believe it was GM High Tech, they had the top 20 or so fuel injected motors. they had a 434 cubic inch lt-1 in there. does anyone run one or know anything about the motor? im going to have to go back and look at the magazine again i guess. is this motor streetable?

I don't think that combo is possible on a stock LT1 block. It's possible you were looking at a first generation LT1 motor from the 2nd generation F bodies. Might have been using a Dart block or something.

wow, didn't knew we had an option past 410 - 418, thin cyl walls, in fact didn't think you could sleeve our blocks for the same reason, interesting.

damn, didn't think even with resleeping that was possible, either way those parts are going to be expensive, wonder how reliable it will be with getting into the water ports. The pooky they use to seal I was told doesn't last longer than about 15,000 miles. In the Navy we used something some really cool secret **** that was like jbweld, made for repairing 50 cal holes in diesel generators during wartime, it held up forever...should have grabbed some of that in my lunchbox.

A 434 is 4.155" bore x 4.000" stroke in standard configuration. You can not go that much on the bore on a factory LT1 block. It might be achievable using an ultra long stroke but that brings up it's own issues. I believe the article was referencing a standard design Gen I sbc with an aftermarket block.

I have that issue of GMHTP and I thought the same thing, a 434 LT1, but it you look closer its not an LT1, It is a Gen 1 small block. They put the LT1 motors right before it so your first though is, "oh look, its the LT1's"
