it's good to race near the police station because all the cops are out. i knew you would win. i had a 95 z28 with a 160 k miles on it with a k/n filter(not CAI) hypercrap, ss wheels, gutted cat and a borla. it could have used new wires/plugs also(had a slight miss in higher rpm) and i beat an 02 gt 5speed with exhaust and CAI by 2 cars from a dig. he was pissed. then he raced my buddy's 97 ss with full bolt on's and DR and he raped him by 5-6 cars. with full bolt on's on my 96 ss(minus headers/stahl and pulley) i beat a brand new gt 5 speed by 3 cars o street tires from a dig. every gt i raced that had equal mods as i do i have beaten. from a dig or roll. there slow, especially the 94 95 cars. there the worst. there so damn heavy. with my 373's from a 25 roll my cars downshifts and rips in OD. i raced a 95 gt with full bolts from a 35 roll to about 100 and beat by a car and half. 35 rolls suck hairy ***** and i still beat him. then i raced him from a 25 roll to about 100 and i had him by 6-8 cars. what a differance. some guy told me he ran a 13.1 in his bolt on gt and i spanked by 3 cars from a stop. i turned and looked at him and said "i guess i run 12.4s" (which i don't). i raced a few modded srt 4's from a dig and beat everyone by a 3-4 cars. i raced a stock one from a 25 roll and ate it pretty good. srt4's above 50 are dangerious though. congrats on the win

i know they are neons. and i know they are 4 bangers, but damnit, those SRT-4's are pretty cool little cars. even if you beat him by 2 car lengths, thats a damn good showing for a stock 4-banger from chrysler of all people. gotta give credit where it is due.

good kill on the stang!

I 've owned two mustangs, both were GT's one was a 94 the other a 95 which is basically the same car. The 95 was nothing to speak of I sold it after about month of owning it. Silverlt1ss is correct, stock these cars are very slow they only bring 215hp to the table in stock form. The new body style required ford to smash the intake down which ate 10 hp from the previous years. My car was pretty modified before it was totalled:

Ported Cobra Intake, Ported & polished Windsor Jr heads, K&N, Vortech s-trim, 90mm Lightining mass air meter, 70mm throttlebody,1.7 roller rockers, BBK Long tube headers, offroad H-pipe, Crane cam, main cap girdle, 40 series flowmaster, 3.73 gears, MSD ignition, CGS subframes, A9L PIH kit, SCT custom burned chip, 42lb injectors, 190lph fuel pump, T rex and fuel pressure regulator, AFCO racing radiator

Now minus supercharger this stock 94 Z28 would still eat it all day long, wouldnt matter if it was from a roll a dig or whatever. With the supercharger it would be a different race. But my point here is you have to spend quite a bit of money on a mustang in order to make it fast. Mach 1's and 03-04 Cobras are the exception to the rule. My problem with them is why do I have to spend that kind of money in order to own a stock car that puts out some decent HP.

Something was messed up with that mustang if a stock LT1 would outrun it with those mods without the supercharger.

96-98 were the slowest since the H.O. cars.

Fox HO cars were not slow, and I dont know why everyone thinks they were. Quite a few were mid-low 14's bone stock, and many (including a local 18year old kid) are running bottom BOTTOM 13's with bolt ons only. The local kid ran a 13.1@101 on DR's and a 1.8 60', he has YANKED THE FRONT DRIVERS WHEEL on DR's at another track and got a 1.6 60', and yes, it is all boltons: CAI, shorty's, 2.5" H pipe, Flowmasters, gears, drag springs, drag radials on fats and skinnies). Not bad for 210whp that he put down.

Your correct its called weight. Take the same mods and put them on a fox body style and the stang would rape it. Best 1/4 mile time was 13.8 @104

SN95's are only 200lbs more than a Foxbody, it shouldnt be THAT much of a difference. If you only ran a 13.8@104 with all of that work AND the blower, your car had major issues, or you couldnt drive it at all.
