Default LT1 Missing up top

I know this problem is notorious for LT1s. I was having problems with this a while back and found my fuel pressure vacumn line was unhooked. I hooked it back up and the car was running great for a while.

I just started having this problem again. The car cuts out anywhere from 5krpms-redline.

When I bought the car it had a cheap chip on it from ebay, supposed to adjust air/fuel mixture I believe. It plugs into the connector that hooks into the intake tube. Well I took that off as soon as I got the car because I didnt want it ******* anything up....

Well when the car started acting up again I hooked the chip back up and found it doesnt cut out nearly as bad and isnt as noticable. Its still very noticable but not as bad....Another thing too, If I dont have the pedal all the way to the floor it wont cut out, I can hold it above 5k without it cutting out. But at WOT it cuts out.

So what do you guys suggest. Maybe the car isnt getting as much fuel as needed?

I think that ebay cheap crap was a mistake. I have heard nothing but bad things about those. I suggest you take that out. It seems it may be your computer so maybe get it tuned from pcmforless

might be your opti. Fixed a 95 Formula firebird with the same problem.... You can remove the water pump and check your opti... Or just replace it if you have never done it and you are over 90,000k.

You can check the electrical part by doing something like this:
http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#opti_test

Unfortuntately there's not really an easy way to check the condition of the cap/rotor without removing it.

So where can I get a PCMforless tune?

Would I be better doing the opti or tune first?
