Default More "Project 8 sec LT1" pics not dialup friendly

Got another bunch of pictures after putting in about 4 hours a day for about 5 days straight after work this week..... Got the rest of the fuel system plumbed and all the lines routed under the car following the stock line routing. removed the wheelwell cover on dvr side to route lines thru the stock shock tower hole, fabricated a trick little bracket to run the lines thru, mounted y-block, spent more money on a regulator, started to prepare myself emotionally for the electrical install, mounted switch panel, routed and mounted tranny cooler lines for a professional look, ran lines through the stock air dam.... probably a few other things I forgot.... Oh and my FAST XFI system arrived at fasttrackperformance today.... so that'll be coming next.... standalone box with dual bank wide band, software, initial tune, opti plugs and a few sensors i need.... motor is under construction in suisun but after mockup and setting deck height and a few other minor issues, assembly begins..... all the parts are there and paid for thank god... enjoy.....

dual feed sump (1 plugged the other 12AN feed line)

yet another jackstand pic.... beadlocked 28x10.5W's

tranny cooler mounted horizontally in nose above foglight vents (1LE with foglight delete)

tranny cooler lines and fresh new underhood paint

Race car! Reminds me of Sled's old car, good luck!
thanks.... it will see some street miles back and forth to work and to car shows.... and will retain plates, insurance, and registration....

And sorry about the door panels, i have to order door panels from wolfe racecraft which i will have upholstered to match the interior.... car will remain FULL interior... yeah it does have a Dave Diluca feel to it..... Hell I'd be happy if it performed like sled's old car... 9.1@154 ain't bad... But 8.99@154 will sound alot better...

And thanks darrell for the compliments.... project is many months in the making..

They aren't too bad with the padded seat covers on there...

No, not at all. if you look close I fabricated a plate that fits in that location and bolted it in place of the stock rubber grommet that routes the stock 3 lines thru the shocktower... my plate has two holes, 1 for the return with a grommet and one for the supply 10AN line.... then bolted it in with a few sheetmetal screws....

thanks...

I have the same suspension and fuel system. I am just wooried about the 9" travel and the filler for the 9" hitting the gas tank on a hard launch. Im going to test suspension travel tomorrow. Looks sweet. I just ran the fuel lines thru the drivers side fender and right beside the brake booster. So you cant even see them

That does look good. I am going to be running a totally custom fuel system soon...and like the idea of that bracket. Would you mind taking any more pictures of it? Perhaps enlightening me on the dimensions of it?

Let me know what you find out about travel. I still have the rubber spacers on so i'm hoping the fill neck won't hit... i had the car at ride height with V6 camaro springs out back and I had a ton of room so i'm not too worried but still interested in what you find out...

Your wish is granted...

Dimensions i'm not completely sure of but what I did was take raw metal and after mocking up that area with a piece of cardboard to make a template i penciled it onto the steel and made the proper cuts with a chop saw. then i drilled the holes initially and used a uni-bit to size them to the lines on a drill press. then drilled holes in the plate followed by marking holes on the shocktower and then drilled them. I then made sure I cut the screws in half so they were blunt (they come in contact with the lines on the other side) so they wouldn't puncture the lines.... and that was it....
