throttle NOT retuning ALL the way closed BBK 58?
Sometimes the throttle blade stays open just a little bit, causing a high idle. I can close it the remaing few degrees by hand. What is binding up in it to cause this? It is VERY annoying, and makes it difficult to drive in traffic.

the spring on the throttle may be starting to wear out, also you could have some debris in the rod for the throttle blades so what you might do is take some carb cleaner and spray it in the TB while the car is running and see if that helps.

it seems like the outside armature (there is are 2 pieces, they almost look they had a bead on them holding them together?) is sticking open. You can close that, and it's the only part that needs to be closed?

sometimes the screws in the throttleblades get messed up causing the blades to bind against the bore of the throttlebody. had this happen on my old 89 iroc. it had a ligenfelter 58 tb on it and i replaced the IAC, TPS and clean the **** out of it and it still did it. it only stuck when the car was running and thats why it took me a while to figure it out

BBK refers to it as vacuum lock and it pulls the blades open a lil bit. My 52mm did it bad when it was new but when that black goo that they put around the blades wore off it quit doing it. By the way they recommend not to take off the black goo, all I know is mine acted right when that **** was gone.

well, this thing is like 8 years old, and the 'black goo' is defintiely gone. The outside cam just doesn't close all the way. I'll leave it to the new owner (car is gone this afternoon) to figure how he wants to fix it!
