Default Nitrous and advance

I posted in the nitrous section but doesn't seem to be getting much view. So I thought I better post here. I'm currently running about 38* advance N/A. It's a long story but I don't have a switchable retard anymore so I was gonna put together a nitrous tune with LT1 Edit. Rule of thumb calculations say 30* for the 250 shot, but I wanna make sure it won't be too much. I read one thread where someone was running 26* with a 200. His was LS1 though. 26* sounds low to me, but I'm afraid to try 30*.

BTW, I am running Autolite 104's (one step colder) gapped at .030" and working on a stand alone fuel system so we don't need to cover that.

Rule of thumb......take out 2 degrees per 50 shot.

I would go ahead and run 26 or 27 degrees total timing and make sure you use some good race fuel. 104, 110....etc. You need to go to a 3-step colder plug for a 250 shot. Been down that road before.

Ahh, someone who knows their ****. Yeah I was basing my 30* calculation on the 2 degree rule but I guess my advance is somewhat aggressive N/A. That's why I thought I would ask. I'll shoot for 26* then. On the plugs, I thought the really cold plugs would be prone to fouling for street driving. Mine's not a trailer queen so is driveability ok with a 3 step colder plug? BTW, thanks for the response.

Try a 2-step colder plug and go from there. If you can see pitting or detonation marks on the plug....then go to a 3-step colder plug.

I've got a Delteq so boxes are somewhat problematic. I will certainly try the colder plugs.

****, that is alot of timing on motor, i only run 30* on nuts. I will remove 6* on a 200 hit and 8* on a 250. I run TR6s all the time and will run TR8s on a 250, sometimes on a 200 depending on conditions. I will also only spay on 110 leaded.
NGK plugs
TR55 stock
TR6 one step colder
TR8 3 steps colder

I will use Autolites as I've been through many NGKs. I believe Autolite 103 is where I want to be for 2 steps cold. I will run 26* and a mix of mostly 110 for nitrous. The stand alone will be straight 110. I'll probably have to ditch the O2's.

bosch has O2 sensor for leaded fuel.

I'm going to be running between a 100-150 shot when I spray, varying with both. Since I am doing that, how much timing should I get taken out, and which plugs should I get and gap them? I hear there are better ones than NGK TR-6 plugs, and want to see some other options.
