Default Compression for a 396 LT1?

Well guys im doing a rebuild and im looking now at what compression i want to set her at.

I would like to run 11.3-11.5 on Motor (Full Sespension)

But also be able to use Nitrous to the best of its abilitys.

Stock is 10:4

Lower CR is better for Spray, but will i have good N/A times too?

Its gona be a DD also so i cant go crazy like 13:1

I was thinking Low 10s or Mid 9s.

Thanks guys.

Nitrous likes high compression ....forced induction likes low compression. Shoot for around 12:1 compression ratio and it will run good n/a and with the spray.

Basicly what Tony said. Look more at the entire combo and the DRC. Maybe we can get Jimbob to pop in and give some advise on the research he is doing

Cool guys, thanks. Also how hard hard is it going to be to tune my car with a high compression?

Cool. Around 12:1 sounds good. Since im running N/A for most this season and later im gettin Juice. I just didnt want to give up the Motor power for the Juice power. The Motor will be the street fun

Im hoping for Low 11s High High High 10s on Motor. Juice is another story.

I am running 11.5 on a stock shortblock with the AI stuff. Little cut on the heads and a thin gasket. I have put 6-700 miles on it in the last two weeks drives wonderfully.

Ahhh you guys are getting me all excited!!!

I want my car back...im tired of driving a 94' Intrepid.

11:5 Seems good since its on pump gas, and its mainly N/A. But when Juice comes to shove its still gone fly.
