LT1 355 ShortBlock



Currently on the block

TRW Forged Pistons
APR Rods-Studs
Comp Cam Xtreme 305
Loydd Elliot Stage 2 Heads (Dual Springs and Titanium Retainers)

flow Avg . 194.5 141.7

GM Blaster Goil
New Oil Pump, Sending Unit

had a setback today when we went to put the MSD opti on I had the 94-95 old style cap + rotor from MSD having to saturday ship the 95-97 one will be here tomorrow.. in the meanwhile they brought my intake to the machine shop and are soaking it.. and will be painting it red like a LT4 intake and porting it to match the heads

What exactly is a 355, I know it is a LT1 just bored over, but by how much?

EST hp is in the 400's... it might just be .030 over but i left almost notihng stock motor wise with thise car its gonna rock hard

MSD Opti now on.. Intake is painted orange right now getting red spray tomorrow and its already ported

you will love the new opti...i have just installed it on mine.. and runs like a bitch all the way to 6K on the stock motor... without skipping a beat... now lets see how long she will last... i want to see some track times and dyno numbers...

engine is done, get to break it in now.. how does one recommend going 500 miles without doing a WOT?? also left the V6 rearend on there (no posi and 2.73s) to force me to be more careful cuz it will snap so easy ( got a 3.73 gear + posi carrier and such already my mechanic said break it in firsT)

btw pics of the engine bay after I do alittle more cleaning up eh??

on the highway... get it knocked out in a day.. i dont know how some people do it, but i would do 1000 miles on regular oil and then at the end of the 1000 mile break in do an oil change to synthetic...and check everything out...

going 200 then changing oil/filter then again the next 250 and it should be fine at that my mechanic said (550 or so) damn i cant wait its just a stock lt1 hahaha
