We are running a group purchase for the new MSD Pro-Billet Distributor (Optispark). 10 or more orders are required by Friday, June 30th for this to go through.
Our regular retail is $489.99 each. For 10 or more orders we can get that down to $429.99.
Part numbers are -
83811 1994-'96 MSD Pro-Billet LT1 Distributor (late model)
8381 1992-'94 MSD Pro-Billet LT1 Distributor (early model)
![](http://www.tbyrnemotorsports.com/lt1/MSD8381.gif)
Advanced optical encoder trigger design for accuracy and reliability.
Easily adjust the timing up to +/-5?.
Improved housing design and extra bolt eliminates leaks.
Fresh air vented and sealed to keep the elements out.
Large ball bearing stabilizes timing through 10,000 rpm.
Rotor drive design is positively indexed and cannot slip.
Finally, an all-out performance distributor to replace the OEM GM LT-1 Optispark! MSD machines an entire billet block of aluminum down into a precise housing that fits in place of the factory piece. Then, we fill it with a reliable new pickup assembly, a trick timing adjustment mechanism and top it off with an all new MSD distributor cap!
*The pickup is an advanced optical encoder, a different style of optical pickup than the OEM. This style pickup has proven to be very reliable and stable through extreme rpm and conditions. The rotor is bolted to a drive assembly that is indexed to the shaft and is stabilized through the use of a large ball bearing assembly.
*Once installed, you have the ability to adjust the ignition timing ? the only distributor that offers timing adjustability! An adjustment screw allows the timing to be tweaked up to +/-5?. The distributor is equipped with a fresh air vent and has an extra thick mounting surface for the cap to eliminate leaks.
The distributor is supplied complete with our heavy duty LT-1 Cap, Rotor and the components required for installation.
Orders can be placed online or by calling 1-877-4-TBYRNE (1-877-482-9763). The first batch will be ordered when we get to 10 so it will be benefical to place your order early!
Have a good day!

The 94 B-bodies used the vented (dowel driven) Opti.
94 F-bodies used the 92-94 (spline driven) opti.
That's why there's an overlap. If you're running a stock 94 F-body timing cover, you'll want the early style.

does anyone think it'll be capable of being run over 7200RPM??? Tom??? What do you think????
Cuz i'm on the fence right now.. I have a FAST XFI standalone system with an optispark connector to drive an opti..... i can dump that connector and get a crab style distributor and crank trigger since i'm going to run a single plane intake.....
But if MSD seems to think that this thing will survive in a 1000hp, 8 second LT1 spinning 7600-7800 rpms without failure then hell i might buy one....
opinions please????

Good question! I'm not sure how this would like those RPMs. I'll run this by someone at MSD to see what they think.
Just need 3 more orders for this to go through!

I doubt it can be spun that high. Even the Dynaspark cant do that. If you want to spin it that high with that setup why not do it right and goo LTCC or deltech?
