I was a bit worried it would be super raspy, so I put the block off plate in, dropped the car off to have the Y modified, picked it up and it was dead quiet. The car has Hooker LTs in to a Off Road Y pipe with a Borla, with the full block off plate it was as quiet as my LT1 was dead stock. It was prety cool but my buddy started giving me **** to to atleast put one of the plates in with a hole. Well decided to swap plates and the Borla with no plate actually sounds really good. Its not all that loud either probably as loud as when it had the LM on it with stock manifolds and a cat also only time it rasped was when it was cold. Other wise sounds great

 

Borla is one of the best sounding catbacks, no doubt. I just think the tips are ugly as shat.

 

They dont look bad on the TAs, fills the slots up

damn it NEil!!! Why'd you have to post this crap.... I bought a used Borla catback on ls1.com a while back for $100!! best deal eva!! Then a few months ago I sold it on here.. now i miss that catback I had an e-cut out where the plates go... so i could adjust the sound of it at a flip of a button... .wish i had it back now...

 

I may get some sounds clip when I get it on the dyno tomorow.

Neil I am glad you got the Borla, my buddies think Borla is a rip off but I tell them they really know nothing at all. Can't wait to hear the "Ladies Bird" official pimp wagon of West Houston Town.

Another Borla here....It sounds plain awesome with the Kooks stepped LTs, off road Y, and my choppy weeny Joe O.cammed 950 rpm idle...I run no plate...neighbors just love me at 4:45am when I leave for work....

Good choice, I love my borla with my Pacesetter LT's, loved it with my cc306, but it now send shivvers down my spine with my new setup. I have a soundclip of it in my sig

Hey guys, I got a borla Cat-back with ORY and stock manifolds. Is sounds so awesome, I always get compliments but My neihbors prolly hate Me. And when I floor it I get a hard on and she gets wet. Its so awsome rolling up to guys with Blowmasters and dumping the clutch on em just to see the look on thier face

 

I just went from the small plate, to no plate, droned too much, so I put the full block off plate in, and I think Im in love all over again.. I like the slightly more refined tone, and the quitness of it.. But I think I felt a loss of power, is this just in my head or is it a noticable sotp feeling?
