I am wanting to get an Lt4 intake but i was
wanting to know if i get it will it work with all
the lt1 stuff and motor or will i have to buy
more than just the intake to make it work?
Will i have to get a tune after i get it put on?

you will have to do a little grinding on the edges of the intake to make it fit with lt1 heads, other than that no other parts are needed. You wouldnt need a tune if thats all your doing.

why are you wanting a LT4 intake? No performance advantage over a LT1 intake at all and the prices are through the roof for them now.

I would just port a LT1 intake

If you want an LT1 manifold with the same port configuration as an LT4 manifold find one from a 1997 LT1. The ports on this intake mirror the ports on the heads unlike the square ports on the earlier manifolds. I tried one on one of my Stock Eliminator motors, but saw no gains with it.

As was said you could do some grinding on the outside of the manifold to make it fit LT1 heads BUT in doing so you take away every potential advantage an LT4 intake has. As was also mentioned the LT4 intake is internally the same as some of the LT1 intakes so swapping too it would be ruining a piece someone else might have been actually able to make use of and a complete waste of money for you.

They had extra material on top of the ports to seal to the taller ports on the LT4 heads, this also facilitates port matching to taller port heads, you take that material off to make it clear the valvecover rail on LT1 heads and you effectively made yourself a red LT1 intake that cost a whole crapload of money.

Yea, unless you have LT4 Heads, or Heads with taller ports, you don't need it, so don't waste the money.

I would only get the intake ported if having the heads done and then let the heads guy do it, talk to him about price.
