need help gather parts for my cc305 and 1.7RR install
Im back from europe and ready to put together my car again! After several months of planning I have decided to go with the cc305 cam on a 112 LSA with scorpian 1.7RR's.
Now I dont think to many people have done this combo before, and I know some of you will be very suspect and tell me to just go with 1.6 rockers and choose another cam like a 503 or an XFI grind, but this is what I want to do, it fits my budget, its easily tunable, so again this is what i want. I want to utilize the 918 spring to ensure the .578/.578 lift will be under control. The problem is I am confused on all the little parts that will be needed to go along with everything like locks and retainers and such.
I've found two good threads after doing several days of research, one thread deals with 1.7rr install and the other deals with 918 springs. Basically, I dont know how to combine the two so that it all works together. Here are the threads as well as their parts lists;

My goal with this thread is to get a complete parts list together so that everything will work flawlessly!

the main thing you have to worry about are the rockers. find out if they are self aligning of non-self aligning. if they are self aligning then you can reuse your stock valve covers. if they are NOT-self aligning:
then you need to buy guideplates for the pushrods, longer pushords...7.350length(hardened), and taller valve covers, longer studs, and an alternator relocation bracket. this is equals close to 600buxs.
my advice is make sure that they are self aligning. and make sure that they are narrow style like factory instead of wide. with the wide you will have to tear out yoru supports for the valve covers for them to fit. which is a big pain.
good luck with your setup. those rockers will help out a lot. just remember that those rockers offset your valve geometry...so replace your valve springs once a year..that way you ensure good spring rates...and have less chance of having aspring break.
good luck! pm me if you need any help...
