Put in a new battery. Just grab one out of another car to see if it'll crank it.

check your wires on your starter, especially the ignition wire, 8mm box end put a little snug on it, also check the big honkin wires that tie in as well. Sounds like a bad starter if not a loose wire.

If all the bells and whistles work, it's not the ignition switch. Do you hear the fuel pump whine (priming) for a few seconds when you first turn the switch to ON (not START)?

yes i think i still have VATS, just got the car 2 months ago and i didnt take it off, everything works, fuel pump primes then shuts off after a few secs. If it is the vats how do i get passed that? theres no security light on either

That's the vats. Same thing happened to me one day. Car was running fine, parked, and an hour later same symptoms. I even tried to push start mine. It would run for like 1 second and would shutoff.

You can either tune it out, or pay big bucks for a new cylinder and matching key set. The best way to do it is to go to shoebox's site and ohm out your key. This way you can pay 30 bucks and find out wether the problem is the key or cylinder

the VATS system kills the power to the fuel pump...so if its priming its not the VATS... make sure you have good connections at the starter and test the power at the starter. when you did the inline pump where did you wire it into?? is it an auto or manual???
