Good lifters and valve springs would be a better way to spend your money.

just get some morel or crane lifters. A set of comp 918s and some promagnum rockers or equivalent unless your running more than .600 lift. I and alot of people have had good luck with that. I actually have comp r lifters but alot of other people have had probs with them

If you decide to install the hydra-rev kit with the heads on, you'll need the installation tool, which is a spring compressor for the rev springs that compresses them enough to install correctly. It's not that much, like $40.
The tool is well-made and is basically a pincer-type compressor - you put a spring in and crank down the ****, which shortens the spring, then you can slip it in place. After they are all in your install the pushrods.

I have one and could take a pic if you want. BTW, it's easier to install the kit with the heads on than to try to push down the heads with 8 springs trying to push back up at you.

A few word's of advise. Make sure you trim the head gaskets so the rails sit flat and the tool is a common Door spring installion tool. I saw one yesterday at Shucks for $19.99

If anyone want's to try and kill there engine I have a Have an AFR kit here with 600 miles on it for $150

I actually never used it. I ended up going straight to a solid roller cam. But I did use the tool and it worked great.

I also took the time to deburr all the hydra-rev springs so there were no sharp edges on the ends to wear or other bad things. Also needed to grind the mounting plate on one edge to clear the GMPP Fastburn heads.

So I have installation experience but no user experience! I am rebuilding my ZZ3 and will be using the kit on that.

TwoFast4Lv: If you're talking about this kind of tool:

That's not what AFR is selling. It is a MUCH better made tool - sort of very strong calipers with very slim steel jaws machined exactly for the AFR hydrarev springs. Shop quality tool.

Oh, I'm not saying it wouldn't work, I'm just saying the AFR tool is a much higher quality piece - it's not like they're ripping people off by selling one like yours for $65 or something. Your tip on a tool that works is great, because most people will only use it once or twice and don't need an expensive one.
