Unhappy Small part, big problem. Knock Sensor plug is missing. Help.

Heres what happened. When I pulled my motor, we forgot to take the knock sensor out and the plastic tip snaped off. No big deal, I just went to the dealership and got a new one. Now that the motor is basically fully assembled in the car, as we are hooking up all the sensors I cannot find the plug for the knock sensor. I've spent hours under the car and on the top trying to find it and it's nowhere. Could someone give me some tips as to how I could go about fixing this? Where does the knock sensor wiring come from? I have thousands of dollars into this build up and I'm at a stale mate over a stupid knock sensor plug. Any help or suggestions are welcome, please help me.

Good pic - there's hole in each side of the block that will accept the knock sensor or a 3/8" NPT plug. Usually the sensor is on the passenger side middle lower side of the block, like the pic.

Jim,

What exactly is an NPT plug and where can I get one?
Thanks

I know you mean National Pipe Thread. Like TwoFast4Lv said, get NPT plugs in brass, steel, or cast iron at any Home Depot or OSH. Cheap to put together an assortment. Or get the fancier anodized aluminum ones at any speed shop. More expensive but slick in red, blue, black or silver.

The NPT standard is nice because if any part is the same diameter hole, the threads should match up. Get a tube of teflon thread sealer too. A modest amount on the plug or sensor thread, unless the sensor comes pre-coated.
