Give me your best reasons why you love and keep your LT1s. I need some ammo for all the nay-sayers around here. I swear everyone is like Toucan Sam riding the scent of an LS1.

well its all i could afford.. and even though i got screwed for many hours and probably 3k-4k my car complete. will ahve costed me $9,100 and it will turn low 12's and high 11's most likely? the cost of a used LS1 comes around 8-9k usualy more.. so why not have a totally rebuilt engine tranny and rear like i did and kill LS1's and be reliable

LT1 pride baby

Because it was the last brute muscle engine. I like my muscle car. The ls1's are sports cars and thats fine, but like Gun5 said, Lt1's are cheaper and for the extra money you save not buying an ls1 you can make your lt1 car very fast and reliable. And for the kicker, I never see many lt1's around, its all ls1's, and to have an older, more powerful and more rare car/engine makes me smile.

I agree, Im sure I am far from the cleanest LT1 Z on this site, but I am easily the cleanest LT1 Z in my town, and I like that. Im WAY more apt to checkout a clean LT1 than an LS1....like you say, they are everywhere.

yea, even thinking in that respect about it being older... i was looking for a camaro and this firebird was a good deal (well though it was.. i got screwed on ebay like i said so it ended up being a learning experience) but now that i think about it.. firebirds will never be made again... and being a 94 its all the more rare

Because when your under a bridge with all the ls1 owners going the oppisite way and they rev up at you, you can open the cutout and rattle the teeth out of their head. Plus if you ask me Ls1's are overrated anyways everyones always on their dick. Very few Ls1 owners respect Lt1 cars until they race one thats properly driven and maintained.

My words exactly. LS1s are smoth and refined. Lt1s have more of an old school feel. Ya LS1s are quick but you dont get the same feel. I love the raw, unrefined feel you get with the LT1 that the LS1 lacks. my buddies who have ridden in LS1s have changed their minds after riding in my car. they say it has a more brutal feel. Its hard to explain the feel of a LT1 you just have to experience it to know what I am talking about. oh ya and not to mention the fastest car in JAPAN is a LT1 C4 vette. they even dominate overseas.

I have no reason I am building something real old school. A big inch BBC or 454 Big Inch SBC, I am taking it to the track screw the street scene. If I need to take it to the street the trailer will handle it.

LS1's are a little more expensive but worth it, the LT1 was good for it's day. To build a modded LT1 vs a modded LS1 we know who will drag who. The LT1 is although the last of the traditional SBC

The Gap between the Ls1 and the Lt1 start to lessen and lessen when serious mods have been performed .

A SICK built Lt1 VS a SICK built LS1, the LS1 has maybe .3 tenths, after stock Vs Stock things really change.

I have had good experiences with lt1's. When I had an opportunity to buy a 95 Ta with 40,000 original miles I could not pass it up! I love the way these cars come to life with a few bolt ons. When I put on a cold air intake kit and 3.73's I beat stock ls1's regularly. After I put on the full exhaust , tune, and a few other bolt ons it realy came to life. I have a lower mile, better looking and better sounding (IMO!) car for less than I could of got a beat on higher mileage ls1. The choice was pretty easy IMO!

because everyone always rags on how the ls1s will kill an lt1 which is total bullshit. Sure they will beat ya stock for stock but i spent 5K less for my lt1 which the extra i have left over will get put into mods to beat those nay-sayers. Its always good to when i tell ppl mine is a 95 and they say no way i thought it was way newer. But yea i like my lt1 and it wont be leaving me anytime soon.

I love my 25th anniversary TA. I also like my Firehawk as well, but not as much as the TA. I love the sound of modded LT1's over LS1's for one reason. I think the main reason I like my TA better is because I have owned it the longest and have spent hours tearing the motor down. I have to say though, my LS1 Firehawk is fast car for being stock and I love that.

Because I can buy an LT1 with 55k on the tach for about 9k throw some P&P heads and a nice cam on it for 2k push close to 400 rwhp with tune ext and still have about 4-5k left by not buying that LS1 i saw with 80000k on the tach.
