It depends on what your goals are. This has been covered 1000's of times. The Hot Cam and Comp 224/230 are good choices for stock heads. Mileage is irrelevant for your cam swap really cuz you want to get new lifters and better springs anyway--maybe 1.6 rockers.

Is This Safe to use?

ZZ3 Camshaft

The duration at lash point in degrees (intake/exhaust) is 275/280; duration at .050" tappet lift (intake/exhaust) is 208/221; and maximum lift with 1.5:1 rocker ratio (intake/exhaust) is 474/501. Valve lash is zero/zero and lobe centerline is 112 degree

Well you might need to do some dowel pin modifications since that is not an LT1 specific cam (and I don't know what year your car is). However that will work. However it doesn't sound to me like you have any goals with a camshaft. That's a pretty weiner cam in my book.

I used the ZZ3 cam in my 93 for about 15k miles. It made good power with great torque. With Edel. shorties and y-pipe, no cat and flowmaster single outlet catback, CAI, pullies, 1.6/1.5 split, LT4 spring set, and SVO 24#, 3.42's with a M29 6spd, and ED Wright tune car went 8.7's at 87 with a 2.3 60 ft. I went to a hotcam, and now thinking of swapping again. I might go back to a smaller cam like the Crane 227 or Lingenfelter 211/219. It was nearly undetectable, but ran great. You will have to drill the snout for the opti to work with this cam. For my 93, I did not have to do this due to the opti running off of the splined shaft instead of going through the sprocket and into the cam. Lift with the 1.6/1.52 rockers I used was .506/.516.

Check out the Crane 227 "baby cam" if you haven't. Mild specs fairly similar to the ZZ4 cam you posted (a ZZ4 cam won't work in a LT1 without some mods to the dowel pin I believe). The Crane 227 specs out around 210/224 if memory serves, made specifically for LT1s. If you want to go slightly bigger try the Comp CC305 at 220/230 w/ .510 lift w/ 1.5 rockers, w/ a 114 degree LSA. Should match the hotcam and idle a little better w/ that LSA.

The ZZ3 cam can work I too had one in my LT1, need to have the center hole in the nose opened up to I believe .500" and a longer dowelpin installed. It is pretty mild and if you have a fairly quiet exhaust can even be mistaken for stock.
At that good price you might try it, for others though I would say skip the hassle of modifying it and get the "227" or 845 cams both very mild but slightly larger and require no machining.
