Default LT1 OBDII Tunercats

Ok, it appears that i can still purchase Tunercats through them and not through JET (as i have heard they were bought out by).

So what all do I need to purchase and download?

last I heard Jet bought the rights to it, but when tunercat was selling them they were $380 with 1 definition file...you can now buy it through craig moates but it needs to be bought in conjunction with his roadrunner stuff as far as I know...I would contact tunercat directly about it, then moates & if neither can do anything then & only then go through jet.

You can buy the Jet tuner package through Summit or Jegs for $475, a little cheaper than through Jet directly. I managed to get it the first week it was available when it was priced at $365 at Summit. There is also a data logging/diagnostic program available that uses the tunercat OBD2/Jet cable called MXscan. It costs $69, and you can get it at: http://www.moates.net/mxscan-standard-p-125.html. It is still in the development stages and there are a few bugs yet. It's only been available for about a week or so.

All you need it the Tuner, the EE definition file and a cable. Don't need the rest of what you listed. As for an OBD1 converion for an F body, all you do is buy a PCM at the salvage, and if it is from an F body with the same trans (and gear ratio if it's an automatic), just plug it in, use Tunercat to turn off trouble code 43, and your converted. If it is not from the correct trans and gear, you will need to flash it with the correct file first. If you have an A4 use a '95 calibration, as the '94 does not use the pulse width modulated TCC solenoid the '96 & '97 uses. The '95 does. If you can't find the correct calibration, email me and I will send you the correct stock file for your car. You don't need the soldered-in band-aids. I have been doing it this way for ten years, works perfectly.

Tuning is a has a very long learning process to get it down good. You need to read read read. Best thing to do is get a mail order tune, data long, another tune according to data logs. You take a look at the tunes and data logs and look what they changed. You will learn a lot this way. Then after you start learning and have read enough to understand the basics (stuff like KR, timing, fuel maps, ect ect..) then you can slowly make changes for better power.

But to start... you have to get everythng you need....
