performance button
its expensive and im not sure if it will work with your car or not... but i know that pcmforless offere a switchable tune.. at the flip of a switch you can go from normal driving to you nitrous tune or whatever... but i think it only works with 93 and pre... bt i will check... but i would just go ahead and tune for it... being that under light throttle it still shouldnt shift as hard... its a WOT change..
Had to ask.. these guys on up in this thread was saying it was for up to a 93. Shouldnt the codes on the inside of the glove box tell me what all the car came with? If i had the manual to tell me what they mean. The Service Parts Identification..
93 used a 700R4 transmission and had an ECM (Engine Control Module), the 94 was a 4L60E with a PCM (Powertrain Control Module). I never did the performance button, but I did use a B&M ShiftPlus for a while (a resistor that raised line pressure). It was a gadget and not good for anything but annoying my wife (which it did quite well, I must say). I put shift hardware in the trans eventually and threw the ShitPlus in a box. And then I swapped for a 6 speed.
Yes, the SPID will show you all the RPO codes and you can find them on the internet. You are still out of luck on the performance button, though.
Thanks for the help, whats the best option for a shift kit for the 93. And where would be my best option to order one? Im told the B&M kit but nobody thats said so owns or has owned a 93 Z.
