Custom grind!!!!

The most common off the shelf cams for the LT1 are the Hot Cam, 305, 503, 306, 847 and some people the GM 846.

You could get a SWEEEEEEEEET *** cam ground for you if you would just take the time. Call up Comp Cams and say "Hey, i really like the GM 847 and the lope it has, but dont have the full potential to make the cam scream. I also DD my car, what do you guys recomend?"

Then call up Futural, Combination, and a few other places, once you think everything sounds good then pay the man.

5 days later you have a kick *** cam at your doorstep.

i had a 503 in mine and it was a beast...great idle but very smooth and consistent. power was there and torque was there. this was with the stroker but it had a healthy idle and it pulled from about 1900-6100 with the 1.6's and heads done. With 1.6's it's like .544/.555 ish on the 112. I also passed emissions with it, which shows how well it works with the car. get either the 503 or an xe or custom that specs around that size. great cam, but im going to the 847 to use those cubes i spent so much money on. just my $.02

I know 2 ppl getting 503's, and i want some thing a little different. i think a custom grind is my only good choice.

You can buy straight from them. But IF you have a local shop I would also get some opinions. My current builder will be making most of the cam decisions himself, except my choice of a 116 LSA

Squeeze man. Wider LSAs are favorites with Nitrous.

does that make a difference in the sound? like is the the lopeyness of it going to be less..?? What determines the lope/idle of it?

Usualy LSA is the big/main factor in the lope. LSA is Lobe Seperation Angle. For instince a tight LSA (108+2) is going to sound like its going to drive into your house and slaughter you. But a bigger LSA (114) is going to sound nice and tame.

I think you would be happy with a 112 on your new cam.

i have a Comp Cams Extreme 230 / 236, .510 / .520 112 LSA its .544 / .555 with 1.6rr
and i want to go to a 847 bad because i want to break the 400whp area and its hard with this damn 230/236. but then again thats a good size cam to drive everyday so its a decision ill make next summer when i am getting a paint job and the engine will be out for that.
