Default so close to 12's with the Lt1

Went to the track tonight and it was a good night for drag racing got my new best of 13.1 at 107 with a 2.1 60ft, not bad for minimal mods. Im thinking mabey an electric water pump or 4.10's will push me into the 12's. Im trying to get the most i can with the Lt1 before I go with a heads cam, or n02, or FI.
Mods are:

1.)275/40/17
2.)160 degree stat
3.)Mad z28 Tune
4.) Pacesetter long tube
5.) Off road Y pipe
6.) Electronic cutout
7.) SLP clutch
8.) Airlift air Bag
9.) BMR Adjustable torque Arm
10.)Throttle body bypass
11.) Cold air intake with K&N filter
12.)Raptor shift light
13.) BMR relocation brackets
14.) stock 10bolt with 3.23's out of a auto mine 3.42 rear broke.

140k on the clock and i attached a pic.

nice times! a better tire, with a better 60' will get you to the 12's imo. You have the suspension mods for it ... get some dr's, cut a 1.5-1.7 and you will get that 12!

Thanks guys for all the great comments they are actually firestone firehawk indy 500's they hooked pretty well I think im getting to the point were slicks would be very benifical. The only thing that confuses me as tonight i didnt spin off the line, just a quick slip from 4-5k then some minimal bogging, the track was very sticky tonight no clue why? I should have done a 5500 clutch dump but i dont think my clutch or new rear would have liked that. O ya i forgot that i have 3.23 gears in the my new rear i just put in from an a4 because my posi broke in mine and $400 posi < $100 complete rear end.

3.42's 3.73's 4.10's ... higher you go, the more chance you have of hurting the rear. 2.1 60's are far from great ... trust me get that 60' into the 1.8 range, and you will have the 12 :]

Drag radial alone would get you 12's.
I would not go slicks on a 10 bolt, even if it is an auto with a stock converter.

M/T radials.

Sounds to me like he wasn't spinning, but bogging if I'm reading it right. I'd think some gears would be beneficial at this point and perhaps help get you out of the hole quicker.

Your MPH is already good for 12's Even if you knock your 60 to 1 1.9 you will run high 12's

Good luck

This is true i was bogging and not spinning witch is weird considering. I was thinking mabey 4.10's would help but i think im going to have a hard time finding them with a 2 series carrier that i think the 3.23's have.

I have a full exhaust witch was what woke my car up for the most part, well i do have a flowmastermaster cat back that came on it when i bought the car, but thats not worth mentining because i use the cutout and track times have proven a 3 tenth diffrence between open and closed on my car so i know its restrictive.

Those are some great times for your mods. Practice your launch more and you'll be in the 12's no problem.

restrictive but sounds good lol ... but thats why they make cutouts to race :p work on getting that 60' going, i was cutting 2.0's on bald street tires on a stock stall automatic! hell recently i almost broke a 1.8 with street tires at 40psi, cold!

hey bud just so you know 3.23 and up is a 3-series only one that is 2-series was the 2.73 so you should be able to use gears out of a car that has the 3-series carrier

np i just saw your times after we talked on aol, hmmm maybe i should start investing in some suspension stuff and we might be pretty close, i think other than what im working on right now that it would make the most difference cause my car is real hard to get off the line, some smaller tires would prolly help to either that or get some better 315's, ill prolly get some 555r's on the rear before to long, the sumitumo's along with no suspension work and being lowered is prolly hurting me the worst, also need to get my launching down, sounds like our cars might be pretty even, mine just needs a better driver lol thats what practice is for , and im getting better prolly go ahead and do the cam i told ya about then get some suspension work SFC's, and LCA's, prolly really need relocation brackets since i lowered my car and i already have a APHR
