A 95 is likely to have an OBD2 port but is OBD1, and there are a lot of OBD1 scanners not up to the task of the 94-5 LT1 pcm.
The scanner you are using does have a code display and is for OBD1 right? A lot of the manuals say the $20 "scanners" that flash the CEL will work on these but they most definetely will not.

there is a picture on shbox.com of how to use an ob1 scanner on a 95. never tried this because i havent had any ses lights (knocks on wood). the only other method i know of is the expensive scanners that come with the 94-95 gm cable. good luck finding the problem.

Hi guys,
just had the MIL light up on my '95 z28 LT1. scanned the code as 29. The
Only thing Ive found on the net so far mentioned the AIR pump fuse.
Sure enough, it had blown and replacing it has blown it again, so now at
least I know where to start looking. Has any body had this, any silly
things to look out for etc ?
I've not had chance to crawl underneath it yet, but was supposed to go
away in it for a week.Looks unlikely now :-
TIA

This was so common on the b-body that GM went through the hassle to LEGALLY defeat the AIR system. Only applies to the 95-6 b and maybe d-body though(d-body is Fleetwood longer wheelbase than the Impy/caprice/roadmaster). Problem is the check valves are cheap and crappy which leads to them leaking and exhaust with it's VERY high water content condensates in the electric AIR pump ruining it.

I would not bother with fixing the air pump. I believe its purpose was to help cold start emissions by heating the cat quicker or just adding more 02 to the exhaust. If the ses light is bothering you i think a tuner should be able to delete it. Definitely not something to cancel a trip over
