Default BMR K-Member

Anyone running a bmr or spohn kmember? I was thinking of getting one to see if the passenger side Longtube header will have clearance. My LT are touching on passenger side. Could cutting, bending, or spacing motor mounts help!! Any ideas or input would greatly be appreciated

I hear the UMI piece is going to be awesome. I know someone with the BMR. I dont think he had any issues with his headers. I dont rember the brand though.

I have a BMR and had no issues with the Hooker long tubes but with my AS&M headers there was a very minor rubbing.

My longtube headers are Jet hots and the passenger side vibrates like crazy. Only when Im at a stop, though. All I need is about 1/4" more gap and I would be good.

interesting. I had long tubes with the stock k-mbr and had plenty of clearance... you could possibly swap to solid motor mounts.... sometimes the rubber motor mount allows the motor to move thereby hitting the kmbr... is it hitting when it's just sitting there????? Check your mounts cuz it might be the problem..

I have a BMR K-mbr now and have zero issues. Tons of clearance.... tons of weight loss, better access to everything.... well worth the money.... pony up the extra for the tubular upper and lower's too.... like 60 lbs off the front end....

I had the same problem and when I inspected my mount it needed replaced.

I did also take a grinder and knock the spot of contact on the K member down so that I got more clearance. Noise was gone.

Yea I have long tubes, and a stock K member, and I have zero clearance issues, maybe it is your motor mounts. also check the transmission mount

I had two k-members that werent right from BMR. The first one the motor mount holes were off. I would get one bolt in and swing the k-member up to the other side (engine as on an engine stand) and the holes were off ~.5"

The second one (which I kept because I didnt want to keep sending it back) the holes for the steering rack were off. I slotted the holes to make it fit since the motor mount holes were atleast correct.

Same problem here, I had a hell of a time getting the teh second motor mount bolt to fit. No joke but, it took me and a friend about 1-2 hours to put that fucken bolt in

Does anyone know if the BMR K-member will work with MAC mid-length headers?

Not sure about your motor mounts. I went with poly mounts when I changed out my stuff - no problems. UMI K-member has no clearance problems with mine.

The stock K-member didn't feel super heavy or anything but it did seem very clunky and weak in comparison to the tubular UMI one I got.

my stock K member was 54 lbs the PA racing one was 22 lbs so I lost 32 lbs with the K member, I will be replacing my PA P.O.S. with a spohn one, I had nothing but problems with PA when I ordered mine, the 3rd one I finally kept and cut the motor mount clamshells down and rewelded it to fit, I never even ran the thing its been sitting in the garage for 2 years and im going to pull it, I heard good things about UMI but spohn is only 15 miles from my house so I tend to get stuff from Steve,I never had any problems with him, hes been great to me.
