low coolant light still..

Default low coolant light still..

flushed my rad like 5-6 times (my mechanic did) car idles at 170-180 in 105 texas weather but i still got that annoying low coolant light.. what does it need a new sensor or what?

Yes. Install a new sensor and it will be fine assuming there is no underlying issue.

Mine use to always come on for no reason..the sensors are POS..i just unplugged mine and went on..

common problem... sensors suck. Either fork over a sh*t load of money for a sensor, or unplug it.

unplug the sensor or take the light out?? ill goto orielly's tomorrow to see how much it is if its a assload **** it ill just check it

just unplug the elec connection... no need to completely remove it

when you unplug the sensor the light will go away and cause no harm to the engine..plus i dont think that oriellys carries them..i think its a special order..lowest i heard was around $60..

Mine also randomly comes on, I don't even know where that sensor is at. Gotta love a car that is running at 170 but says it is low on coolant.

The sensors just don't work. Unplug it.

why not take the sensor out and clean it? the cars we're talking about here are 10 to 13 years old so chance are theyve built up sediment on the sensor and it just needs to be knocked off. just my 2 pennys

you can try cleaning it...but id just unplug it (i did). if you run out of coolant your just an idiot.

you can get a new one from GM for right around 40 bucks, thats what I paid for mine, but thats good guys price, a friend works for the GMhouse.

if it is faulty and your good about checking your fluids... just unplug it and clear the codes... The light will stay off. When coolant goes too low the sensor completes the circut. So if you just unplug it then you dont have to worry about it.

its on the passanger side of your radiator about 6 inchs down from the rad cap..

i didnt have to clear any codes and you have to move the battery to get to it (easily)...at least on a '97

just unplug it. The sensor does not do anything to the car and will not make it throw any codes, it just tells you when the coolant level is below the sensor. The ONLY thing it controls is the light at the dash, it is not wired into anything else.
