LT1 Vette 1/4 mile
What would a 1992-1996 LT1 6-speed Vette run in the 1/4 (trap and ET) in the hands of a decent driver. Bone stock and in good shape? Sorry for the "what if" ???

Basically I am asking because I discovered that 94' vettes wth a 6 speed and 40-60K miles can be bought for the same price as a 01-02 Z28 with a 6-speed and I want to know which one is faster. If they are a wash, I know which one I want

Get the Z. Newer and nicer. Plus, you'll have an LS1. They never lose, lol.
An LS1 will beat a 94 vette everytime. Unless the Z is an auto and the vette is a manual. Then that would be a pretty good race. Trap speeds will be pretty close.

Listen, it's about what you want. A C4 Vette is affordable but still not doable for some people. Choose the one that fits you most and will serve your purpose. LT1 Z28 < LT1 C4 < LT4 C4 = LS1 Z28 < C5

I like the image the 'vette presents, but image is secondary to performance. IF PERFORMANCE IS THE ONLY FACTOR, would the M6 C4 beat the M6 Z28 (LS1)?
(straightline is more of a factor for me than handling as i really dont have any twisties around here).

I owned an LT1 vette years ago and ran it at Pomona raceway in Pomona, CA. It was a stock A4 and the best pass getting traction on the factory goodyear gsc's was a 13.75@103. When I first picked up my LT1 Camaro to modify, I ran it at the track and it was pathetic: 15.40@94.

i still say a LT1 fully built vs. a LS1 fully built will be neck and neck all depends on driver.... I have a buddy with a bolt on and tuned 97 LT1 6 speed Z28 and he eats up LS1's with bolt ons and he even beat one with a TR cam. Not by much but a win is a win. All i have to say is that u will spend more on making a vette go faster than a Z28 because a Corvette is a corvette and a Camaro is a camaro. Just like a Mustang GT vs. a Saleen......

My first Chevy was my 94 vert a4 z28. I enjoyed that car but I never really liked it. I was so use to driving my 97 vert Mustang. Compared to my 97 the 94 Z was a boat. I even started to doubt the LT1. Then I got my C4 LT1. It brought back my love for driving again. I would make up reasons just to go out and drive. Even stock it was a joy to drive. Now I have my 383 and other stuff going in. Every day it's at the shop I miss it more. Words cant describe how I feel about this car. I dont think I could drive anything else anymore. The only issue is I'm 6'6" 260lbs so it's a tight fit, like a glove.
