I think that the idle would let the secret out! The fun part about these cars is that they don't look fast. Over the years, I have had a bunch of fun running test and tune against blown Mustangs, etc.

What do you do for a gauge assembly? I'm sure there all mechanical, but do you make something that goes in place of the stock insturment cluster or is there something out there already pre-fabbed?

I will try to get a dash picture up by the end of the week. For now, here is a picture of the factory K-member with a manual rack and solid motor mounts installed.

You win the prize! FJ's stuff is really nice quality. I have been carefull not to mention non-sponsors in this thread. I'm not sure if the moderators would like it or not.

Take Care,

Tony,

My last car was a Camaro. It ran 10.50 at 3200 lbs on nine inch tires with unported heads and intake, 24 lb injectors, and stock throttle body. It's sixty foot times were in the 1.3's all day long. To me that's pretty cool.

Honestly, Stock is one of the hardest classes in drag racing. I enjoy hunting for that extra 100 th of a second. Some people think that I am crazy, but this is a way for me to unwind.

Take Care,

Daren

Considering the amount of stock stuff they still use, it is a testament to what it takes to maximize everything. And they are not lightweights either!

Josh,

Did you ever get your motor fixed? I just got two deposits for work in Mt Airy, so I should be up there by early November. Call me anytime.

Take Care,

Daren

Rebuilt factory lower A-arms.

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...1/DCP_1444.jpg

I know they don't look like much, but I have about eight hours in these. Lot's of heating, pressing, hamer, and welding. They feature new GM ball joints and aftermarket spherical bearings to replace the worn out bushings.

Modified front spindles.

Note long wheel studs and aftermarket caliper mounts. I am pretty much done with cutting, grinding, and welding on parts. Now it's time for the fun stuff!

What front hub do you run? Does that have to be stock?
Back in go-kart days we'd take the grease packed bearings apart, clean them and then just use white lithium or WD-40. Helped rolling resistance, but had to keep a very close eye on them.
