Maybe one of you guys can help me to load pictures so that they are clearer.

The assembled 12-bolt.

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...1/DCP_1318.jpg

Note that it has Pete-Z brackets and wheelie bar mounts installed. The backing plates and housing have been powder coated. It has a 4.88 Richmond gear with Moser axles and spool. The studs are 5/8". The housing came from KTRE. It is quite a bit narrower than stock.

(I still need advice on picture loading)

What is the min weight?
Do yo plan on cutting those inner fenders our? I know they are not much and trying to decide if cutting those and the door bars are worth it...for a total of 30#s max probably.

will you keep updating this thread so I can follow?

Shon,

The inner fenders have to stay, but the door bars are long gone.

Here is the car after paint. I should start putting it back together this week. The goal is to have it running for Rockingham. If you are interrested I will post up the whole build.

Take Care,

Daren

There are a few custom touches. The rear wheel openings have been stretched for 30" slicks. The mirrors were replaced with delete plates. The gas door and antenna holes have been smoothed. And of course, the front end has been updated to a 1998 (NHRA legal for LT1's).

Shon,

I am about 15 minutes north of Shadyside. Just make sure you call before you drive up here.

Rear lights and markers!

The only thing I did here was to take out the whole harness except one bulb holder. That way I have the mandatory one light for tech.

The twins!!

Two new Stock Eliminator LT1's.

Unported exhaust ports!

Stamped rockers and Opti-Spark!

Both motors were blueprinted to NHRA specs. and feature stock lift cams. The motor that is out of the bag is my "A" motor. It should be good for low tens in A/FIA. Note the truck oil pans.

The headliner is recovered and ready to install.

Note that all of the factory holes are gone. Lights, visors, etc. are history.

Wanna send me engine B? Can't have two engines in one bird. It could have a nice home in my Camaro.

Sorry man, but I've gotta have a spare. Besides I think that it will be at least .1 slower than the "A" motor and I wouldn't want you mad at me.

Take Care,

Daren

I took it to a local upholstery shop and had it coverred in the same material that the factory uses. They charged me $65.00. It sure beats looking at all the ugly holes.

Thanks!

A Stock Eliminator motor is basically a stock motor blueprinted to the specifications that the manufacturer submits to the NHRA.

http://www.nhra.com/tech_specs/engine/

In addition the cylinders are allowed to be a maximum of .070" over. The stroke has a .015" tolerence. The camshaft is checked for lift only, so the cams that we run are pretty wild. We have to run factory lifters, but they can be modified. No porting or polishing of parts is allowed. The valves can be an aftermarket replacement of the same size (no titanium). A 1/4" max. three angle valve job is allowed. The rockers need to be of stock type. Crane replacement stamped arms are OK. Pistons and rods can be forged replacements from the NHRA's approved list. Aftermarket computers and open headers are allowed. And that's about it!

The fastest LT1 Stocker last year was Bobby Warrens stick shift 1997 Firebird. It went 10.171.
