With 4.33s:
7000 on a 26" tire is about 125
7000 27" 130

4.56:
7k 26" 119 :puke:
7k 27" 123

If you can hook the 26" and 4.33s that is the route I would go!!!

so that means my 28" tires are too much? 28's are what I have but guess I could change tires easy enough after the gear swap, kinda sucks though.

What would my 28's on 4:33s @ 7000 do?

Not sure what calculator your using but if it's online would love to see it, way cool.

What RPM are you trapping now? Guessing right at 6k, you are leaving a TON on the table.

135MPH 7k/28/4.33

There is several cals out there, I have an excel SS I can send you that has all trannies in it, you change the tire diameter, rear gear, if you have non standard gear ratios you can change that too.

pm w/email sent, thanks a ton...so from what I see the 28" tires with 4:33 gears @7k would be the shiznit hands down...in fact that's around a mid 10sec pass I do believe.

Brett, if your gonna spray it, remember to not go too deep on the gears. I put a small nitrous kit on mine last summer for a special race, and had to use 4th gear (overdrive, mine is a 4L60E) to make it to the finish line. I have 4.30 gears and 30" X 9" radials, same tires as the NHRA Stock Eliminator cars use. Mine runs 130 to 132 mph around here. Right at 7000 at the finish line. Haven't seen decent air yet this summer. If your 6000 at the finish line, you may be OK with nitrous like you are. I would expect more MPH, but that will probably come with more driving practice. You probably just need more laps.
Don't get discouraged.

thanks, kind of ran that through my grapefruit today actually... that if I ever sprayed 4;10s would be perfect....but I love the "N/A" thing and I don't street race so it's kind of like "what the hell do I wanna do" spray or not??? ..pretty much enjoy being a dying breed of "all-motor" racers, just enjoy it not sure why really...once I get bored of running 10's on motor I'll spray the **** out of it with a staged 200 shot perhaps.

I say go all motor. But the 4.10s would be perfect for the spray.

I prefer all motor. Baby bottles are the "Easy Button" for kids that don't know anything about making one run. I only put one on mine for a heads up race where the Buick GN club in Oklahoma City challenged EFI F body cars, their flyer said "any power adders", and I was told there was a 9 second GN coming up from Texas. Couldn't have a Texas V6 handing me my butt.
Turned out I didn't need it, he was only able to go 10.70 when he got here.
It's gone now.

Give yourself some seat time to get used to it. You'll be fine. You should be leavng on the rev limiter. With a factory PCM that is only going to be about 7K. That is certainly lower than I ever left with a stick car. The only manual trans NHRA Super Stock friend I have left leaves at 9500. Everybody else has gone automatic now. When the tree starts down, put it on the mat, and side step the clutch on the last amber. You just have to drive it like you stole it. It will all come to you with seat time.

Maybe Darren (Gizmo) will ask RPM Bobby Warren (his engine builder) at what RPM he usually leaves. Bobby has a manual trans LT1 Stock Eliminator car that has gone 10.14. Bobby's son Jeff has an automatic that has gone 10.30s. Those guys sure makes the rest of us look like a bunch of puds.

Man that's crazy, well I definitely saw a difference leaving @6300, even on 12 lbs of air it didn't feel squirmy like a month ago, got a little more used to it, but damn 7k is definitely where my stock pcm is putzing out and I'll give that a whirl next time too...thanks a ton for the advice, waiting on a bonus check anyday which I plan on 4:30 gears and a new elec w-pump, my CSI died this weekend. Then back to the track I go. Think i want to try the 4:30 gears first then switch to the SupverVic intake, that way I have a true benchmark of what mods gives you what.

I think a 4.56 or a .88 would do you right with that 28 inch tire ath that weight and HP. You say you are JUST going into 4th at 1220 ft? 4.10 to a 4.30 aint even worth the change, aint gonna see squat on the clocks, and you will have a lighter wallet. You need as much gear as you can get in the car and stay under 7200 rpm through the lights. The tire will grow, I would go with a 4.88.

Interesting you say that, my buddy thinks the 4:56's would be the biggest noticeable change vs 4:30's as well. I think 4:88's would be too deep a gear. According to the calculator Shon sent me the 4:30's actually are the gear of choice with the weight and tire size/7krpm. That is one nice thing about the Ford-9", change the 3rd member from one to the other and get after it vs full gear change w/backlash setting and all that jazz on my 12 bolt.

HP and weight also have to be a consideration when choosing a gear, not x tire at x rpm needs x gear, people throw those out there on NA combos and think it's correct, it's not, throw spray into the equation and things change HP is HP no matter where it comes from, Higher HP uses up gear quicker.

Couldn't agree with you more, hence if you read the previous posts you'll see our discussion regarding nitrious and which gears as part of the equation not just what you listed above. It's all relevant.
