Default g2 383 stroker lt1

what is the expected horsepower of a g2 performance 383 stroker lt1, its in a 97 z28...my best friend just bought it and i'm not sure if it is really stroked. it just doesn't run like something that is stroked in that car. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

I think you will have to give some of the details on the motor. What heads or what is done to them. Whats the cam specs? What compression? Tuning? Injecctors? There are alot of things that can cause it to perform or not to perform. Alittle more info and you may get some help.

you wont really notice the power of a stroker unless you have heads and cam on it. with stock heads and cam on a stroker, you will most likely just feel some more tq even though the tq and hp will be greater

Default LT1 stroker motor

also you will have realy bad mpg. I have a 96 T/A WS6 with a LT1 383 stoker and my buddy has the same car just a LT1 and he gets about 23mpg and i have been getting around 10-14mpg. but hp will increase and tq. I have pulled a 2005 GTO and i have also pulled a 97 LS1 formula. But you will suck gas.

MPG wouldnt suffer that bad from going to a stroker all things being the same. I have a pretty big cammed stroked lt1 and I can still get over 20 on the highway no problem even 25... Its how u drive it and how its maintained

well Im curious about that cause I drive my car pretty smooth, unless somebody screws with me then I have to put them in there place. But I have been getting a broad range of 10-14mpg but that could because of the grade of gas. Its been so expensive lately that I have had to put 89octane in it. Driving 30 miles to work and then back home sucks on gas.

yeah I have no idea what my time is on my t/a. I have to replace some things on it. the clutch needs to be replaced. I need tires. I also need to do some work to the head cause I have some valve lash. So till then its parked and I drive my other car. minor work that can start problems.

People do stupid things there could be a $8,000 stroker in there but if they didn't do the tuning at all or it is done badly performance will be poor this is one area all too often neglected by people not active on forums like these. Or as mentioned if they did the bottomend without doing the top it would choke too.

It will be as dependable as a 350. IMO, Maybe even better if you use forged internals.
