No you can still run a stock 5.7" rod. Or you could run a 6.0. There are more odball sizes too... 5.85 I think is one? Pistons are built for certain rod lengths.

Would you please post the name of the shop you are affiliated with so we can all stay FAR FAR AWAY?
It's because your an easy target dwayne. Don't ya see that the quote in his sig is the Merv's responce to you calling him a retard? *cough* correcting him *cough*, doesn't that tell ya something? I love my "tooth pick", puts the f-body 10-bolt to shame!

and yes, list the shops name NOW, so we can avoid it. Killer stroker motor? uh huh... you tell that "mechanic" to pull his head from his ***, and tell the customer to spend the money on the heads, stall, and gears.

Pretty sure new pistons come with new wrist pins, and the pistons must be matched to the stroke and rod combo. most common are 5.7"(stock) and 6". In theory the 6" rod has a better angle, it makes the piston lighter, but doesn't work well with the 396+ strokers.

I predict a very disapointed customer, cuz unless this build has some tricks under the sleve, it's not gonna put down. 400 hp to the wheels. or the flywheel for that matter, will still be a struggle.

If there was one persons advise I would value it was yours, although it was harsh at times. But the info was there.

I agree with that. Blunt, to the point, and likely correct... and it hurts sometimes.
