Hmmm, LT1!! You'll need some help!
The LT1's are hell to work on! Believe me! I've had 3! Get you an LS1 car!
The 2 are different as night & day!
Good luck! OH BTW........Welcome! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Moving this over to our LT1 section.

You may want to check out www.camaroz28.com They're more LT1 oriented.

This has to be the <img border="0" alt="[rainbow]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_rainbow.gif" /> 'est statement I have read all week. Just like anything else, once you learn its cake man. Headers aren't a big deal depending on which ones you buy.

headers arent that big of a deal. just kind of a PITA but you get used to it on these cars. as for the LS1 comment, ive done headers on both LT1s and LS1s multiple times, the LT1s are easier.

Getting the stock ones off was the hardest part of the process for me. Ive had Hookers, Edlebrocks, and Arizona Speed and Marine. The ASM headers were the hardest to put on but had by far the best Fit and Finish to them and provided the strongest SOTP feel as far as that is concerneed. the best in my opinion of each catagory performance wise were....
Full Length: Hooker
Mid Lengths: Arizona Speed and Marine (ASM)
Shorties: Hooker

Headers on either of the fourth gens get to be a pain. It is just bolts though and how to get at it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

After swapping over to a spread port design I am amazed at how easy the headers go on. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Welcome to the board.

Headers yield a lot of power and are a good starting point along with a cai, exhaust or cutout, and other basic mods like a short shifter or high stall torque converter if and auto. Gears also make a nice sotp feel. I agree a 95 is a great year due to the vented opti spark.

Long tube headers make the power. I just got my new SLP 2003 new products catalog & they quote an install time of 8.3 hours on the LS1! My local shop quotes 5 hours for my LT-1 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
