383 LT1 times etc

383 LT1 times etc a friend of mine has a 97 z28 camaro convertible with good tires...not slicks but good tires that runs like a 9.0 1/8th mile...it's run a best of 8.8 but averages around 9.0. basically what i think is that there is no way in hell this is a 383 motored car. my 01 silverado with stock v8 and 100 shot ran a 9.0 and an LT1 stroker motor should smoke that...even thought it's a heavy convertible. just looking for some feedback.

Re: 383 LT1 times etc Sounds mostly stock to me. Maybe he has cai and a cutout or something and is telling you it is a stroker. Or something is messed. Or he is bone stock with a stroker bottom end.

Re: 383 LT1 times etc i wanna say it was low 80s high 70s. it has a borla cat back, stock manifolds. stock cam and heads. supposed stroker, as%m throttlebody, k@n FIPK, i think that's it.

Re: 383 LT1 times etc Those numbers sound like stock LT1 numbers with maybe a CAI and catback and other minor mods. Certainly not anywhere near what a stroker runs.
A friend of mine ran 7.2's in the 1/8th with his 383 LT1.
