Default Any DRAG ***** in here? Budget LT1 Racers!

Im thinking about gutting my car a good bit, and throwing a stock bottum and some decent head work with a some spray.

Possable swap out to 6speed for the fun factor, When I say gutted I mean as much as possable with out spending money.

Im not worried about the Rear end until it breaks, just a cheap budget racer

Try and find the best deals and mostly buy things used but in good condiction.

Were are my drag ***** at?

my car is totally gutted with no cage, 1 seat, and no hvac, a/c abs pump, etc...its far from comfy, but the big cam through bullets under my seat really make it fun. put lt's($275-$900), true duals with bullets($175), and a mild cam like a cc503 or even 306($265), 1.6 rockers ($300), and a 125 shot ($600 base kit). you'll fly with that setup. with a 6 speed get a better clutch too, oh and gears for the rear.

I gutted mine as well but it has the "look" of a full interior (minus the seats) No AC, heater, Power steering, cruise control, E brake, Horns, front sway bar, bunch of other stuff.
I stuck a TH400 with RMVB and a transbrake and with 3.73s and the STOCK internals in the motor it was alot of fun. I say was cause the TH400 killed the rear after 1500 miles.
New beefy rear end with tax return money.
If your willing to compromise ALOT the stock motor with full boltons can be alot of fun.

I've heard that for every 200lbs, you go .1 in the 1/4 faster. I'll check a few calculaors and see what they say.

yea, after I checked the calculators, it is 100 lbs to .1 of the quarter. no wonder my 4500 fleetwood was so slow...

Gutted here. It serves the purpose but I will eventually put back in some door panels and some sort of carpet. I just dont like the gutted stuff, that far. I dont mind not having anything else though....

My car is 2800ish without driver, there is a good 100#s left to take out, EASY.

3500 here with a 1994 Z28 A4 with 1/2-3/4 tank, 1 seat, no spare tire/jack, LT's X-pipe setup, stock 16" wheels with DR's on the back, and a aftermarket converter in a built tranny. Dont forget the full nitrous bottle in the trunk.
