my girlfriend got her 99 A4 z28 for $7000, and at 135,000 miles.

looks just like your car, just without the ground effects and the rear panel spoiler addon.

her car makes me want t ops even more

ahh well there ya go, I'm looking at lower mileage cars. I mean my LT1 has 106,000 on it right now and I want an LS1 with less than that on it, so it makes sense now that they're all priced through the roof. Oh well, I guess once I get some money I can start looking for something affordably priced.

Hopefully I don't get annoyed at the test drive and keep the LT1

I have both, a stock 99 LS1 A4 Formula, and a LT4 "Hotcammed" 96 LT1 M6 Z28. The reason the formy "feels" slower is the factory stall, and damn 2.73 gears... Well that is till the 96 is put back together

your gaskets dried up, any engine will do it if you dont go out and start it every now and then...

I do have to say, i almost bought a 98 T/A before i got my hawk, and the LT1 felt alot better than the LS1... To me it seems like the LT1 can do a little more with less power than the LS1's can... just what i have seen with mine and a few of my buddies... I would love to have an LSx car, just seems a little easier sometimes to deal with things... ex-> no damn opti to **** out

do you put oil around the new seal? you might try cleaning up where the filter sits

LS1=god. end of story. i like my lt1 but to me you just cant make the same kinds of power with an LT1 that you can an LS1. i dont care what yall say if i had the opportunity to ****** up an LS1 fbody i would no doubt.

One more thing, besides a little more power, and no @@!@# opti-crap- the LS1 is all aluminum- that's gotta save a couple lbs. over the front axle of a basically nose-heavy car- anything that adds lightness is good, in my book

I've owned both, like them both- the LS1 is deceptive, though- sneaky fast- as it spins faster and faster, instead of running out of power, it gets stronger. Up around 5 grand or so, sometimes the tires loose traction- damn thrilling, but, by then, you're moving pretty good. I don't mind a sideways launch, but getting sideways at 70 is a little too much fun- I find myself always anticipating it, now, and getting ready to jump off the gas- wierd when you are trying to take off fast to heve to be so quick to lift-

maybe the answer to the soft take-off is a bigger stall- I already swapped a 3.42 rear in from a WS6 to get rid of the 2.73 stockers- only GM would beuild a sports car with that back axle...

Try to change #8 on an LS1. You might still find yourself under the car.
