Default LT1 running bad when hot

Buddies 94, he changed a leaky water pump, now the car runs really bad. Starts really weak, runs like crap, when you rev it the car doesnt sound right, sounds like it wants sputter. Dont want to throw money at it yet, possible opti?

Yeah, hate to blame the old standby, but probably is the opti. I've had one go out without throwing a code.

dude i have put three optis on my car i am a tech at ramey chevrlet and it still was acting up i finally fixed the problem though i had excessive oil blow by "bad rings" and my 97 is vented off the intake manifoldso i had to rebuild but it fixed my issue so if any of you guys are having multiple problems even out of new distributors take one apart and see if there is oil in it if there is the optical eye cant read eveybody knows the opti was the biggest pile ever
