Default 383 predictions?

okay so i posted up that im going to be building a 383 to replace my piece of **** LT1 because im just not getting anywhere with it. well im looking to see what yall think my setup will net me as far as HP and TQ and what ill do at the track on some e.t. streets.

the setup is: Eagle 3.750" crank, Manley H-Lite 6.000" rods(595 grams, save some rotating mass), Keith Black Silv-O-Lite 383(3.75" stroke, 6" rod) flat top pistons, standard volume oil pump.up top im going to run LE2's, custom grind, 1.6rrs, bee hives, along with a port matched LT1 intake, with a twin 58mm TB. and of course all of the fuel system components like 36lb injectors, adjustable regulator, walbro pump, etc. Im planning on running it through 1 3/4" long tubes to custom dumps before the axle. im gonna run it all through a built 4L60e or a TH-400 with about a 3500 stall and to the 10 bolt as long as it will hold up then probably a 12bolt.

so post up as many predictions for HP/TQ and track times. im shooting for at least 10s on motor even if it means a 10.99 but ill spray it later on. just let me know something. and dont say use the search because thats pointless cause no one has an identical setup.

To get 10s on motor I think you will need a fairly aggressive cam and more stall to match it, lightening and suspension work to make it hook, and still YOU will have to do everything right. The owner is the biggest variable in cars some guys have great parts yet a slow car others have stock parts and put stroker cars to shame.

why do you say i dont have anything for very long? like i said i dont plan on spraying it much. this is by no means my first build up, i know what im going for. i was looking for predictions from everyone. and how can you say i need a larger cam when i said i was going custom grind? i didnt say specs for it. and i can see needing a bigger stall for it, and i for got to mention ill either be running 3.73 or 4.10s in the rear. im still looking for predictions on numbers and times.

As you just pointed out you have offered no info on the cam, kind of an important detail. I am not saying post specs but can you give us some ballpark numbers for example when asked I say my cam is mid 220s intake and mid .5xx lift. Gives folks some idea but still honors the vendors request that I not make the specs public.

the cam i looking at is in the in the 230 to 238 range, with about .600" of lift give or take a couple thousandths. its a pretty agressive setup but ive talked to llyod elliot and he says the heads car handle it so im gonna try it. i hope that helps with predictions.

A) no point in that th-400... th-350 will hold up to anything you put it through and save you bout 15 hp.

B) times depend on about a million things we dont know... what does the car weigh... what suspension is done to it... I can tell you this, I ran 11s with stock heads and a stock intake and a stock throttle body on top of a 383 with a cc306 cam... so you could easily see 10's with your setup... but my car is fairly light and full suspension. I have outran stoked AFR headed LT1's motor vs motor... like has already been said... lost of variations. But it has 10 second potential.

Le2 cam and head packages, Bret Bauer does the cam, the specs are secret, out of respect most people dont advertise it. LE2 is equiv to a cc306 but better. that Car should run 11's if the car has suspension and tires.

a 383 is only good as its cam and heads package. there are plenty results on http://www.camaroz28.com in the LT1 section

There are so many ways to get what you want.
355/383 either one just make sure you get a good shop to do it.
Take as much weight out of it as you can live without and get the suspension needed to use the power.
Get a GOOD/GREAT set of heads/cam and things will roll nicely.
It is a complete package. I recommend talking with Advanced Induction about your goals and see what they can do for you. Money back gaurantee, who else offers that?
