400fwhp is is not going to be a big restriction but will be a little bit of one, from your sig though I would say you will be at more than 400fwhp and less than 400rwhp so I do not know where you got that number. You will gain something with a larger TB but the car will be fine without it till it becomes convenient budget wise to do the TB.

Like I said it wouldn't need one. At well below 400fwhp my car started pulling vacuum over 5000rpms, never did any testing on how much power that cost me though. Made too many other changes when I swapped to the 58mm TB to really compare.
You make damn good power for the list of untouched stock parts you have to run including TB right?? How much vacuum does it build???

you know for people who dont have access to a lot of maching equipment that's not going to be easy. A TB can be torn down fairly easy, but not many people have access to machines that can do that kind of work, not to mention you'll need to fabricate new TB blades.
I think it's been stated on a few other LT1 boards, that yes the stock TB can make big power, but there's a point that it becomes a restriction aka you start pulling more than around 2" of vacuum at WOT. what HP that happens, im not sure, but some have even said if you get to running the car over 5000rpms then with the stock Tb you're going to be seeing an intake restriction..

I did a little work on my stock throttle body. I used 'faststeel' to mold in my own airfoil piece. I used a dremel with sander rolls along with various sand paper to smooth out the front and rear just up to the blades making sure not to mess with that. used some fine grit to really smooth it and I also found, cut, and polished a piece of aluminum to make my own top plate. I'm sure there was probably no perfomance gain by all this but, it was just a rainy day bordom thing. Here's some pics:
