In my stock '95 Elty with an M6 and 4.10s, I turn 1850 @60 and around 2100 @70. But since the gears, I haven't gotten any less than 20mpg (worst of 20.16, best of 27.7) and I drive half city, half highway.

i get like 24mpg freeway since i seafoamed the car twice.

i dont really like my 4.10's though. you cant spin the tires long enough in 1st and 2nd without banging the rev limiter or having to shift.

i like the fact of spinning 3rd though.

and also the fact that you loose maximum mph in each gear compared to 3.42, and top speed. i cant do 170 anymore.

lol, i can spin all day long, it's called throttle control. get some drag radials and don't even spin into 2nd at all, simple solution. No point in doing 170 unless you're trapping that

170? How is your bolt on car going that fast?

In anycase I used that gear calculator somewhere, with 4.10s you should be able to hit 150mph. Thats only 5mph slower than it did factory. I'll gladly trade that to get rid of that slow *** acceleration in 1st.

well with the speed limiter removed on most LT1's and LS1's with 3.42's you can hit 160mph.

back in my 3.42 days i was at 140 or so and it still wanted to go.

I have almost every bolton in the book, and I had lots of room out in CA to go faster, once 5th is done with the 3.42s the car basically dosen't want to accelerate much anymore, I've tried on multiple occations.
With bolt ons and stock 3.42s in a M6 car you are not going to go 15mph faster than the factory rating. You shift into 6th and it wonders what the hell?
Not trying to be a pain in the ***, but you mention you only took it to 140 anyway, so I guess we will never know, maybe you have the miracle car or something.
I had the same issue with my 86 Camaro back in the day, shift it to 5th, hope you have 20 miles of space to try to move that needle, cause its not going to go anywhere.

I know our cars have no problem really pulling 5th, but come on 6th is double overdrive, not even the new badass z06 vette pulls 6th, so lets all be realistic here. If a way lighter car with 200 more hp than we have can't do it, we sure as hell aren't going to.

Using that gear calculator that is out there, with a M6 and 4.10s 5th should wind out at 150mph, only 5mph slower than with the 3.42s. I'm hoping that with the 4.10s maybe you can slowly accelerate in 6th, cause with the 3.42s I swear the car dosen't pull at all, the needle is just chilling between 3-4k.

If I've heard right you shouldn't hit your car with spray in 6th, dosen't that put alot of stress on the motor?
