edelbrock LT1-4 intake
Has this been on the market vary long? Is anyone using one of these?
I think it may keep inlet air cooler.
For Chevrolet LT1 and LT4 V8 (1992-1997)
PERFORMER RPM AIR-GAP™ (1500-6500 rpm)
Utilizing the proven short runner tunnel-ram style, both of these manifolds provide the next step up in performance for LT1 and LT4 owners. These are both direct stock replacements for OEM equipment with all required emissions features. Our patented Air-Gap™ design delivers a cooler and denser air stream for maximum power output. These intake manifolds are designed to work with either our #3809-52mm or #3810-58mm throttle bodies. They also accept early and late OEM LT1 throttle bodies and fuel rails. #7107 and 7109 are designed to match #61909 and #61919 LT1 cylinder heads, but will also work with OEM LT1 and LT4 heads with minor head port matching.
Performer RPM Air-Gap for LT1 #7107
Performer RPM Air-Gap for LT4 #7109
Installation Notes: Recommended intake gasket: LT1: GM #12524653, LT4: GM #12367777, LT1 Port Exit Dimensions: A-2.06", B-1.15", LT4 Port Exit Dimensions: A-2.12" x 1.20"

Well be what it may, it does offer one thing, a cheapER, note the "er", to a highly inflated value of the GM LT4 intake manifolds, since they are going on ebay for close to a grand, around 500 for the edelbrock wouldnt be so bad. But its like everyone says, If it ever comes out, its been scheduled for release for quite a while now.

Ah, I wasn't aware they had this on the table for awhile.
As for .1 gains, if you're talking the 1/4, I don't race, so that doesn't pertain to me in the slightest. If you're talking power, I find that hard to believe. You're seperating the intake from the warm oil and motor heat. I've always liked how air-gaps looked, carb or EFI, and the LT1 would just be all sorts of cool in my book heh

Well, They are on summit website now!!! As for how they are going to function, I really can't see to much gain from them. Yes they are air gap but the runners are almost Identical to the factory intake. I think for the money it isn't worth it, But thats my .02, I wish someone would go ahead and make a single plane intake for the LT1 heads that you wouldn't have to do so many mods to and get it over with! Most of us have the seen the pics of LT motors with single planes and an elbow, and the #'s show the benifits.....

They may be on people's websites (Summit's) but I asked them (Edelbrock) personally at the SEMA show and the rep told me it would be at least March before they are shipping... so I might expect to see one on the streets by January 2008!
