Not sure that I understand your grammar, but the LT1 is known to be a torque engine versus the LS1 being a high revving engine. I have proven this to myself at the track, I could get them off the line but they beat me on the top end (before the turbo).

I think it is more of a drivers race than anything. People always say the ls1 is faster or otherwise, and it usually to me seems like driver error b/c it always goes both ways

Our motors feel like they have more torque, it def. comes in down lower than ls1 cars. LS1 motors don't feel very torquey at all, I test drove a LS2 GTO though, LS2's feel like they have plenty of grunt down low.

i think the ls1 wins in both dept's, it doesn't make sense that they would make so much more hp with not much more rps to use without the torque to go with it, sad to say but those motors have a good advantage over ours, I think there was some actual dyno graphs on this topic somewhere.

LS1's have more hp and torque than LT1's at any RPM.

Right on the Money.

LT1s are underpowerd in every aspect compared to LS1s.

Most people dont know that, or care to know that because the LT1 is a "Torque Monster" some say....

Tony.

I thought TPI was considered the torque monster... 245HP and 325ft/lbs on a stock 350 TPI at the flywheel (for 91-92 year, I think 89 and 90 too, don't recall since mine was a 91)

I agree the L98 is the torque motor. Mine for the moment puts down 330RWHP and 370RWTQ. A friend puts down 370RWHP and 410RWTQ. These at 350-355 motors.

we should get a dyno graph archive going with stock baseline runs from both lt1 and ls1 motors put up or shut up kind of thing, then we can stop some of the bickering

im on the thinking that the lt1's put down more torque down low because from personal experience my lt1 put down over 300 ft lbs torque (graph in sig) from 2000-4500 rpm and that was basically stock on the other hand i have seen a stock ls1 dyno graph where the ls1 didn't break the 300 ft/lbs torque until 2800 rpm interesting eh?

no lets see some graphs to see if this is true or not

The LT1 "feels" like it has more down low, when in reality it doesnt.
I test drove and LS1 bird and it honestly didnt feel like it had that down low grunt of the LT1...but I know it did.

There is no doubt we are underpowered in all aspects...people just need to accept it lol.

The LS1 is a better engine in every aspect, period. I wish I had built up a LS1 instead of my LT1.
