I charge between 21 and 25 hours, at $100 an hour.

LOL... remember, they come out the bottom. I have seen it done through the hood opening, but I think that way is actually more difficult, you have to pull the engine down to a short block for that to work.

how about installation only? whats average cost? i can pull an engine no problems.. hell even bolting it back into place isnt the problem... all the small details, wires, ect ect.. bother the hell outta me.. i'm used to 4 wires, distributor, alternater, and starter, and an electric choke on a carb...

just unplug stuff, take lots of good pictures while you do it and label it. It's not really that bad.

For about 50 bucks you can buy the happy hooker from TPIS, it's designed so that you can remove an Fbody long block from the top.

Check out this link where a cat is removing a long block from an F-body with the happy hooker.

I bought one for my vette so that I don't have to remove the intake the next time I pull the engine.

The wiring on the LT1s is pretty simple, just take some pictures and label everything.

all you have to do is remove the a/c condensor and the radiator and it all comes out together!! i pulled out everything on mine thru the top and it was all installed water pump and everything. all you need is a cherry picker!

Do it yourself, that way you can learn some stuff in the process. It's not that hard really. Did it in a couple of days.

I say do it your self...It's not hard just time consuming

After my 93'LT1 took a dump, I bought a 95'LT1w/88k for $550 plus brake fluid and antifreeze.
