Default Rear main Seal

How big of a job is it to replace a rear main seal on my lt1? Any walk throughs out there on the web? TIA

= ( you have to pull the trans just to get to it.. Once you get it out, its right there behind the Flywheel/Flexpate.. Can't miss it..

It has to be done with the Trans removed, no question about it. You have to unbolt your Flexplate/Flywheel to get to it.
The next question is if it's installed wet or dry..

yea, once you take the tranny and stuff out (which isnt terribly difficulty assuming you have a lift or something) then its a piece of cake, just ubolt the back of the oil pan and inbolt the thing surrounding the rear main seal, then install the new one

The rubber Felpro says to install wet. The permatex Felpro says to install dry.
I am doing this today so I just read it after opening both boxes at the store.

KY jelly works best on some things. im serious too, i used it on my front sway bar bushings.

When changing the rear main seal there are 3 bolts and 1 nut that you take off then you must take off the two nuts facing downward and what else to remove the seal?
